Venezuela a failure of CAPITALISM.

Your thread premise is a failure.

According to you. And you have what level of credibility to make that determination? None, as far as I can see. It's just your opinion that you think your privilege entitles you to set as the standard.

But the fact is that you're just a poseur and a fraud, and your opinion is informed solely by your inherent bias, not any empirical evidence or facts. Just your feelings. You have strong feelings about things that you think people should accommodate as fact. But who made your standard the one that defines all others? Only you, because you have an inflated sense of self worth that needs to be smacked down as the arrogance it really is.

We can gain insight into Venezuela from a liberal white dude on JPP though? Sure, why not

Well, since your instincts are shit, your judgment is trash, and your character is rotten to the core, people like me need to give you insight because you lack the ability to think critically.

No, you should question why you find yourself in agreement almost 100% of the time with them.

Nope. Actually that is false and a lie. And capitalism has been shown to be far greater than socialism. But you keep fighting for your socialist dream.

Blah, blah, blah. Attack, attack, attack. That's all you do, especially after getting schooled ITT.

See, you sound exactly like them!

Capitalism and socialism work in tandem, not one or the other, and no one on my side has proposed replacing one with the other entirely, all we've talked about is creating one single entity that does all administrative reimbursement to health care providers from a single premium pool everyone pays a flat % of their income towards. That's it. That's all M4A does and is. For some unknown reason, you brain-dead morons think that means government control. It doesn't. It's literally a part of the process that you aren't involved with as a patient, that happens after you get your care. For some reason, that scares your panties off, and I don't know why, and you've never been able to articulate why.

So you create straw men when you do that because you're really a fraud who lacks the ability to think critically about anything.

So to socialists such as yourself socialism not only equals medicare for all? Interesting.

You didn't school me or anyone. What happened was I posted something that upset your sensibilities, and instead of having a debate about it, you just said it was wrong according to your standard, in that arrogant, whiny cawacko way you always do.

I'm always up for having an honest, reasonable debate, but you never are. You prefer to set your own personal standards as the given, and in the rare times you actually do post links, they're always half-truths that you deliberately conceal unless someone like me does due diligence on them.

Your habit is to post half the story, and hope that no one bothers to look into it. Then when someone does, you get defensive and whiny.

So to socialists such as yourself socialism not only equals medicare for all? Interesting.

Medicare is socialism.

Social Security is socialism.

These are programs you have no problem with, but were called "socialism" back in the day. In fact, your third favorite President behind Trump and Bush the Dumber called Medicare "socialism" and warned about the dangers of Medicare back in the 1960's. He was completely wrong about it. So since he was wrong then, why the fuck would any of you be right today?

You just cannot stand it that there's a better way when it comes to health care than the current system, and what upsets you most is that you didn't think of it first. That's why you offer no alternatives to M4A, and why you offer no legitimate attacks on the proposal. Instead, you fall back on the screechiness of Conservatism to label anything that does any good for the public as "socialism".

You're a fraud and a weakling, and you know it.

Beto O'Rourke wrote poem asking cow to 'wax my ass' and 'scrub my balls'

Beto O'Rourke's youthful artistic experiments included a poem pleading for genital grooming and a sacred cow to lactate, according to newly unearthed documents.

At age 16 in 1988, under the pseudonym - "Psychedelic Warlord" - O'Rourke, now 46, authored "The Song of the Cow" — a bizarre piece of experimental writing that included lines asking for a cow to "buff" and "scrub my balls."

I need a butt-shine,
Right now
You are holy,
Oh, sacred Cow
I thirst for you,
Provide Milk.

Buff my balls,
Love the Cow,
Good fortune for those that do.
Love me, breathe my feet,
The Cow has risen.

Wax my ass,
Scrub my balls.
The Cow has risen,
Provide Milk.

"The Song of the Cow" isn't the only odd piece of written work recently excavated from the former Texas congressman's past. As part of a Reuters investigation published Friday, it was discovered that O'Rourke — who was a member of the hacking group "Cult of the Dead Cow" — wrote a short story about deliberately running over a group of children in his car.

“As I neared the young ones, I put all my weight on my right foot, keeping the accelerator pedal on the floor until I heard the crashing of the two children on the hood, and then the sharp cry of pain from one of the two. I was so fascinated for a moment, that when after I had stopped my vehicle, I just sat in a daze, sweet visions filling my head," O'Rourke wrote.

Thankfully for O'Rourke's chances in the Democratic primaries, he is not alone in having a past that contains some unusual writings.

In 1972, Sen. Bernie Sanders wrote an essay in the Vermont Freeman describing a woman who "fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously." Sanders wrote: "And Men. Men are in pain too. They are thinking, wondering. What is it they want from a woman? Are they at fault? Are they perpetrating this man-woman situation? Are they oppressors? The man is bitter."

Where's the 3% growth you promised?
Keep your head in the game, moron. Has 20 years of socialist bullshit cured all the problems caused by capitalism in Venezuela? It’s a simple question. I’ll help you out a little: It HAS accomplished 1 thing socialism always promises, income equality. Everyone down there is equally destitute and starving, except the government, the military and the criminal element

The problem with Venezuela is quite simple; it's too reliant on fossil fuel extraction and production. 95% of Venezuela's exports are barrels of oil, and today they export between 1.5 and 2 million barrels a day.

Just like how Texas, Oklahoma, and North Dakota all faced the same budgetary problems when the price per barrel dropped in 2016. All those fossil fuel-dependent states relied on revenues from oil to fund their budgets. So when the price of oil drops, so does the revenue from that oil. The result is a massive budget deficit that gets filled either by tax increases, or cuts to social services. Those states chose the latter and the net effect of that are economies that staggered and entered recession (TX did have an economic recession in 2016):

Venezuela relied on fossil fuels for its chief economic export and output. You're the ones who want that, remember? So when the price of oil falls, as it did in 2016, revenues fell as well. Venezuela needed to diversify its economy. Drilling for more oil isn't going to get Venezuela out of the pickle they are in.

You cannot drill your way to higher energy prices and thus, higher revenues.

Socialism has nothing to do with it. It's all pegged to the price per barrel.

Venezuela's socialism succeeded in income equality.

"Everyone down there is equally destitute and starving, except the government, the military and the criminal element." Per Callinectes Ocasio-Cortez.

Spot on Senorita Cortez.

Tax cuts take time to affect the GDP. The previous morbidly high corporate tax rates have been set to reasonable rates. New investments in businesses and expansion will increase the GDP.
