The solution for healthcare that will never be instituted

States being in charge results in the LCD effect. They move to the state that is the lowest common denominator. You are buying a myth.
When we were young, medical care was not that expensive. Companies offered full coverage without copays. The fact that healthcare costs have outsrtripped inflation by huge amounts, year after year, shows that they need controlling .
Healthcare should not be a for-profit industry.

Only solution is making insurance what it is really for and let the free market work its magic

Leftists wouldn’t understand. They want gobblement to care for them like children

Wow, are you ignorant? There is no free market and therefore no magic. We had our first tariff in 1789. We have had a manipulated economy since back then. We have over 13,000 tariffs now. Rightys just are not in touch with reality.
When America started, we chartered corporations. Their charter would not be renewed if they did things against the public welfare. How many would be renewed nowadays?

Well Nordi, before the federal government got involved unconstitutionally in health insurance, THE STATES had control of health insurance and America had some of the best healthcare in the world, I know because I'm 82 and lived then before Medicare and the rest of this screwed up government corporate insurance racket ever took wings. We could afford to pay doctors for primary care out of our pockets, didn't need no stinking insurance. Doctors didn't need a team of paper pushers to sort out a car load of paper work for medicare and private insurance situations. We didn't sue doctors and hospitals for any reason except gross malpractice and doctors and hospitals didn't need millions of dollars worth of insurance to protect themselves. Doctors donated their time and talents to low cost and free clinics and hospitals donated space, offices and equipment to those clinics. We bought catastrophic hospital major medical insurance with low affordable premiums.

HORSE SHIT!

I also am 82...and the fact of the matter is that the United States has NEVER had some of the best healthcare in the world...and I defy you to show statistics that it had close to the best, or close to the most affordable...at any point in its history.

We are the ONLY industrialized nation that does not provide universal healthcare for all its citizens...and we consistently rank near the bottom of the industrialized nations in life expectancy. There are third world nations that rank higher than us in damn near every category of efficient or productive healthcare...MOSTLY OCCASIONED BY THE AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE insistence that we forego universal or single payer systems.

You and your notions are not part of the solution to our healthcare problems, Robo...YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

Slavery is and was a violation of individual rights. State's control over health insurance is a constitutional power awarded to the states by the Constitution. Your analogy is juvenile and laughable. You'd do better to attempt to make a rational argument instead of childish insults.

YOU should not be lecturing against childish arguments, Robo...nor lecturing on how to make rational arguments either.

YOU do not understand either.

Frank, 8 of the world's 10 best Doctors were educated and practice in the US.

https://www.embibe.com/exams/top-10-doctors-around-the-world/

Our country has some of the best medical facilities and practitioners in the world, to say "the fact of the matter is that the United States has NEVER had some of the best healthcare in the world" is just ludicrous.
That clarified, I do agree our healthcare system is broken, simply because there are so many who abuse it (illegals and some medicaid subscribers) and that increases the costs to those to us who pay insurance premiums. You cannot put the sole blame of our healthcare woes (or every other "problem" in this country) entirely on conservatives. Like everything else you socialists bitch about, maybe you should propose some solutions to the problems instead of constantly bitching about them.

Really?

I don't think it is.

I have seen NOTHING to suggest that healthcare in the US has ever been close to the best in the world...and much that suggests it lags the rest of the world.

If you agree with the assertion that we once did...offer substantiation.

I have! In this thread, in fact. Although I also indicated that it makes sense to leave the "problem solving" to people who actually know what they are talking about, rather than to those of us who shoot off our mouths in Internet fora.

THE MILITARY, RD, is NOT relegated to private enterprise. In my opinion, our nation's healthcare ought not to be also. One of the reasons it is not being nationalized...is because American conservatives do a knee reflex whenever such a move is mentioned.

But NATIONALIZED HEALTHCARE...or NATIONALIZED health insurance...IS USED BY EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED NATION OF THE WORLD...and almost all of them have better health results than does the United States in damn near every category of health consideration.

I did not say "solely" the fault of American conservatism...nor did I say that EVERY problem is the fault of American conservatism...

...BUT AMERICAN CONSERVATISM IS THE PRIMARY REASON WE DO NOT MAKE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES FOR THE BETTER IN THE WAY WE HANDLE OUR HEALTHCARE.

K?

Then I suggest you move to one of those countries you think can better handle your healthcare for the rest of your life and quit bitching.
Myself, I'm staying right here.

A decent NHS will cost you half as much as the present American idiocy. Capitalism really does cost you know!

You are truly a fucking jerk-off at times, RB.

I am staying here. I love this country...and I love the life I am living in New Jersey.

But the discussion here is about healthcare...and how we can improve it.

Apparently your American conservative horse shit prevents you for seeing that.

Okay...that is your right.

Unfortunately, the American right has been programed by their puppet masters to always disparage anything that is not purely CAPITALISTIC (in capital letters)...so the notion of a national healthcare system cannot even be considered by them.

I think the American left (which probably is considered middle right in most nations) will finally prevail on this issue. But it has to be soon...which means Trump must go after this one abominable term.

I think it is you who is the dumb fuck. I didn’t say we HAVE a free market. I said free markets WORK. You know. FREEDOM. Society has always been filled with rent seekers and know it alls. It has always been easier for a business to pay off a politician to make it harder for competition than actually compete.

In the world of medical insurance who do you think benefits from insurance plans not being allowed to be sold across state lines? You think that is for the general welfare? Fuck no. It benefits insurance companies. No competition

There is nothing wrong with the healthcare we have

There are problems with how we pay for it. Now one solution is for old fucks like you to voluntarily euthanize yourselves. Think of the money we will save.

You are a mentally sick individual. Seek help.

Can you explain that babble please?

When we were young, medical care was not that expensive. Companies offered full coverage without copays.

Then along came the feds and began meddling in the health insurance business where they had no expertise. Government programs, mountains of regulations and paperwork closing down the low cost and free clinics because the government was taking responsibility for the poor and elderly. Once that gate got opened to the national treasury it became a free-for-all for prices and cost.

The fact that healthcare costs have outsrtripped inflation by huge amounts, year after year, shows that they need controlling.

The fact that healthcare cost outstripped inflation year after year is the "fact" that the federal government indulged in the health insurance business where they had no constitutional authority to be and no expertise to begin with and the "fact" that America has been creating too damned many lawyers who love to chase ambulances and doctors and sue the shit out of them and drive up liability insurance rates for doctors and hospitals, and the "fact" tremendous advances in medical procedures and equipment became the norm at warp speed. and that cost money!

Healthcare should not be a for-profit industry.

Every progressive socialist authoritarian despises profits, but in every case they have no rational arguments for any system to replace "for profit" in a world that only can advance successfully by the incentive means of profit.

If healthcare were non-profit, there would have never been the amount and genius of the tremendous advancements in medical procedures and medical equipment we enjoy today. Doctors would still be bleeding patients to cure them.

Not sure if there is a cure for that kind of thinking...

...but there are psychiatric hospitals that can at least help.

You preach the talking points of the DNC nicely Frankie! Everything you just said is the HORSESHIT!!!! All of that is simply progressive bullshit!!! The majority of medical life saving procedures, new medical lifesaving equipment and new lifesaving drugs have been and still are being created right here in the good old U.S.A.

Typical leftist tactic! when ya can't make a rational point of debate, just slobber out another insult and hope somebody will think you're cute!!!

The facts here are that the left cannot make a rational argument why the states shouldn't and couldn't keep the money that the federal government waste on healthcare insurance and create their own health insurance systems as mandated by the 10th amendment to our Constitution, and thereby actually create a 50 state laboratory of experimentation that each state can learn from each other state and thereby come up with the very best health insurance policies in the end game.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, or prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." (Amendment 10, United States Constitution)

Right now, the United States is not even ranked among the top 25 healthiest nations on the planet. (We're currently ranked #35.)

As far as healthcare is concerned...we are CONSISTENTLY ranked WORST among the industrialized/developed nations.

And healthcare costs in the US are CONSISTENTLY ranked the highest.

We ought to be ashamed of ourselves.

But we have assholes on the right, like you, in a dream world on the issue.
