Schumer Shutdown.....

The Republicans carried four southern states in 1964.

Five actually...but let's do four.

Alabama cast its electoral votes for a Republican in 1964 for the first time in 90 years.

Georgia cast its electoral votes for a Republican in 1964 for the first time in 96 years.

Mississippi cast its electoral votes for a Republican in 1964 for the first time in 90 years.

South Carolina cast its electoral votes for a Republican in 1964 for the first time in 84 years.

And the South has been fairly solid for the Republicans (with the exception of going for Strom Thurmond, and the two Southern Democrats, Carter and Clinton.)

My point has been made.

so you don't think its counter intuitive for racists to switch to the party that just passed a bill against racism?......

I think it is absurd to suppose the party of people like David Duke want to paint the other party as the racist party.

In any case, LBJ predicted that the passage of the bill...which he and his predecessor had championed...would lose the South.

It did.

because your argument against saying people join political parties with people who think like them was to say you have friends that don't think like you.......I was just wondering if you thought that argument worked about political parties as well.......apparently, even though you raised the argument you don't believe it either......

You are not even making sense anymore.

But don't stop. I laughing my butt off at your machinations.

That's weird,
because most of the people I know that want to give our country away piece by piece, kneel and disrespect our flag and military, hate cops and believe legalizing dope is a good idea are liberal and Democrat.

What a strange world we live in, two different tribes almost huh?

Yeah, the kind you mention normally go to the Democrats.

The racists and ones who subscribe to "I've got mine, screw you"...gravitate to the Republicans.

That's why I am happy I am an Independent.

it would be.....but keep in mind, Republicans didn't vote for David Duke.....I know that really fucks up your argument, but surprisingly, you don't realize it.....

My guess is that many Republicans DID vote for David Duke...he got lots of votes during the elections in which he ran. But if you want to think all of them came from Democrats and Independents...go for it.

This is too funny for words.

In any case, I am not interested in whether or not Republicans favors David Duke. What is interesting is that David Duke favors the Republican Party...the home for American racists.

oh gosh, I didn't realize I was up against your guesses.......how the fuck can I match that with mere fact........I 'm glad your a dumbfuck lib'rul or your guesses might be accurate occasionally.....

You are a class act, PP.

You must wow the other kids in the playground bragging about that kind of post.

Since Duke got votes...tell me why you KNOW that no Republicans voted for him?

And no guessing on your part, because you seem to think that a dishonorable thing to do.

Coldwater also carried his home state of Arizona, giving him a total of five states. Is your point that southerners like to vote for their own people?

No...not at all.

My point, if you have been following, is that LBJ said upon signing the Civil Rights Act...that the South would be lost to the Democratic Party for a generation. LBJ was correct, although actually...it has been lost to them for a lot longer than a generation, except when candidates from Southern states ran.

Actually, I think the LBJ quote included a racist slur in it, but, no matter. :cof1:

if Republicans had voted for him wouldn't he be in office?......the guy who beat him in the primary is.....

C'mon, PP!

There were Democrats who voted for Hillary Clinton. Does that mean she should be in office?

Since she is not in office, should I suggest that Democrats didn't vote for her?
