They wouldn't need M-Caid if they lived within their means to begin with..........they can just go to the State Health Dept. and pay on a sliding fee scale if they must.

I think you should be 'heiling' Obama. This happened under his watch. BTW....pay hikes have nothing to do with tax cuts. Salary is a business expense, which automatically reduces tax liability. As such, they would get a tax 'cut' simply by hiking employee pay.

But...Walmart raised pay in '15, and most of their employees are part time help.


The company announced a series of pay raises for its lowest paid employees in early 2015, which took the minimum pay for most employees to $10 an hour by last year, and the average pay for its full-time workers to about $13 an hour. Part-time workers are paid about $10 an hour on average.

There's no question that the Obama administration pressured Walmart to increase wages/benefits, as they publicized the fact that WM employees typically got food stamps, and Medicaid. There's also no question that it worked, because in 2015 WM began the program that implemented wage hikes that are now being publicized as some sort of reciprocal action due to tax cuts.

And finally, there's no question that a $15/hr minimum wage is still not a living wage. Forget buying a home. Rent is not even covered by a typical minimum wage household.

Of course they do. So do we. Even those who play the lotto are seeking a profit. It's the same thing employees and independent contractors look for. When they or we work, we are looking for a profit. If that profit affords us food, shelter and clothing then all's well. If we want or need more, then we either look for another job or take on a second one. I can't quite cover everything with my old-age S.S. check, so I have an independent contractor job plus make & sell homemade soap on Saturdays.

Naive answer,how would you like if you worked in a two person office you and your boss,you make minimum wage.You do most the work,and he makes 5 Billion a year.
You would be fine getting a part time job to make ends meet.

The boss is in charge. I have choices. Stay and like it, stay and hate it, take a 2nd job, leave. The key in life is be at peace with yourself in whatever situation you find yourself in. And, not to give others any responsibility, obligation or power over my life to make me miserable or happy. :)
