Seems the bowl game of UCF vs. Auburn disproved some claims that UCF played in a weaker conference and didn't have the ability to run with the big guys. Since UCF defeated a team that beat the supposed best team in the nation, speculation about UCF not being able to compete were incorrect.
Are you OK with the system leaving out a team that did what the national champions couldn't/didn't do in more areas than one? UCF did three things Alabama didn't do. Win their conference, go undefeated, and beat Auburn. If that's not enough to look at changing how the system uses pure subjectivity when the results they want can't be justified using objective factors, then nothing will ever change it. When Alabama can't get in based on factors that can be measured and for which there is no way to argue against, they can always rely on the subjective view they'll get.
