Georgia - 'Bama

The south is always too fucking stupid for a real response.

Don't get it twisted brother. I actually agree that much of the south is garbage with a lot of dumb ass garbage people.

What I disagree with is "Except for Coca-Cola, your city is a worthless cesspool in the deep south."

You should post that is green because one would have to be fucking stupid to suggest that. I recognize that you MUST live in Heaven, or on a farm, but even that doesn't make your comment any less mindlessly ignorant.

I'm on your side .. trying to keep you from further making an absolute moron of yourself.

However, if you feel you must, I'm open to further making an ass out of you and that comment with data.

I suggest that you not go there. I'm on your side.

Absolutely. Sent me down the hall mumbling to myself.

Right?!?! I mean although they were still up 14 at half it felt like a tie game. I was watching with my OU buddy and we were just shaking out heads. It's like the "prevent win" defense teams go into. You get cautious/conservative like that and people can sense your fear

Yeah, they did. It is as official as the banners flying at UCF.
hello WinterBorn. Aren't you an Alabama fan? I've never talked football with you, but seem to recall..

Instead of a snark answer for you;
i ask again is the quality of play that different that an undefeated team was not a candidate for the final?
Do they need more playoff teams?

Hello Anatta. Yes, I am indeed an Alabama fan.

The quality of the opponent is what prevented UCF from making the playoffs. The playoff committee rankings never had them above #7. And that was after beating auburn.
The AP and Coaches polls didn'y rank them that high.

More teams in the playoff might help. But I would think we need no more than 8 teams in a playoff. Otherwise the regular season begins to mean less and less.

There's certainly a bunch of controversy over the matches and the final game this year. I would love to see them just go back to bowl games, to be perfectly honest with you. Mix up the bowl game match-ups...
(any team can beat any other team on a given day...there have been some pretty significant upsets over the years..)
That being said, I love a Tua story every time:)

It was a great game, but still not fair to go undefeated and not get a chance for a playoff game

Agreed.

UCF beat a team that beat the supposed best team in the nation. That should be worth something. Seems to me, despite those that say otherwise, that UCF deserved to be there.

So the fact that UCF beat auburn should have gotten them in the playoffs?

You mean beating a team even the supposed best team in the nation couldn't defeat? You mean doing something like winning their conference championship, something the supposed best team in the nation couldn't do? You mean going undefeated, something the supposed best team in the nation couldn't do?

Are you saying that Alabama's schedule which included teams like Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Mercer that either split wins/losses or had a losing record are quality opponents?

Who did Bama play that was better than Auburn?

I mean beating the three teams who beat auburn. I mean playing 6 teams that were ranked in the top 20 when we played them.

I mean looking at the rankings and the strength of schedule, and not just the Win/Loss record. The playoff committee looks are a number of factors to decide rankings. The AP and Coaches polls are not connected to the playoff committee polls. And none of the 3 polls had UCF high enough to be in the playoffs.

UCF also did other things Alabama didn't do like win their conference and go undefeated.

Yes they did. But they played a very weak regular season schedule. And the people who select the teams for the playoffs were obviously not swayed by going undefeated.
