So who was right on the Iraq War? Liberals vs. Conservatives.

Before anyone tries to disqualify the question or divide it into 'neocon vs. conservatives', remember that Bush had like 90% or higher among conservatives, and had Fox News pulling for him. The same Fox News then as now, minus a few sexual harassers.

Lets also explain the Democratic support for the war. There was some Democratic support, which was gained by feeding them cooked intel... and only from centrists and center-right moderates. Remember, Ann Coulter famously said that Hillary Clinton was more conservative than McCain.

The liberal base was always vehemently against the Iraq war. We were called unpatriotic and worse, to the point of having to rename French Fries as 'Freedom Fries'.

Which side was right, all these years later?

well if you think that the democrat party including Hillary Clinton was fooled by George W Bush who you also thought was stupid, then run with that.

I can tell you as a first hand witness, that virtually every conservative on jpp.com supported the Iraq War Disaster, and defended it for years long after it became apparent to rational people that it was a historic clusterfuck of the first order.

I can count on one hand the number of conservatives who have publically admitted they were wrong, and jpp.com liberals were right.

Some of the original Iraq War supporters are now - belatedly - claiming to have been against the war and against Bush at the time. Will wonders never cease!

Why do you feel all these correct anti-Iraq War liberals nonminated an Iraq War supporter to be their Presidential nominee?

Why did Obama beat Hillary? Why wasn't Hillary able to get wide-spread support among liberals?

Cypress used this board as an example earlier. There were multiple liberals on this board against the Iraq War. Yet these same folks fully backed Hillary. All of them.

Well that has nothing to do with me. Hillary was better than Trump (in the same way that McCain was better than Trump). Ultimately, Hillary's baggage was too heavy to unite liberals.

Lets also remember that liberals constitute only a sliver of the Democratic base. The party was built from the 1990s onward as a centrist party, sometimes even center-right.

Hillary admitted the Iraq War was a mistake over a decade ago. That her vote was a blunder.

If Hillary - like your buddies in the GOP - had clung for years for to the notion that the Iraq War was an excellent adventure, that it was fully justified, there is not a snow balls chance in hell she would have won the nomination. Support for the Iraq War has been completely unacceptable in the Democratic Party for fifteen years or more.

Oddly enough, to this day I have seen almost no republicans admit the Iraq War was a catastrophic mistake, a war that should not have been waged.

This is exactly why I use to say to the right wing nut jobs on this board that Clinton should have ran as a republican.

They all lie about who they supported or voted for, and you can see them trying to blame Hilary for the Iraq war.

The bottom line, look at the issues they support.

How can someone hate trump so much that they agree with him on grabbing women's pussies? They also defend him on every issue.

There is nothing but a bunch of white racist right wing fucks on this board.

They can't be trusted nor believed even the so called "libertarians", and especially the one's who have never voted for a republican.....rolling my eyes.

She said it when she had to for political reasons. Do you feel her time as S.O.S. showed she learned anything from her Iraq vote?

I've stated on here before I often listen to KPFA free speech radio. It's the station that makes NPR seem conservative. Most of the hosts were Bernie supporters and they constantly discussed Hillary's war mongering.

So there isn't a moral high ground to lecture others from on war if one was all in for Hillary.

Interesting that all those Democrats on the list in the link said what Bush said BEFORE he was President. Those Democrats were either lying or the evidence was there. Which one of the only two options is it, boy?

So your assertion is that Hillary still believes the Iraq War was a great idea, and she is just faking people out into thinking otherwise?

Sorry if I don't believe you.

I voted for Sanders in the primary, so my conscience is clear.
I have a history and a record of cutting slack to people of both parties, who voted for the Iraq war but later expressed regret and contrition. Walter Jones (R-NC) for example.

Now, have you ever admitted that Desh was on the right side of history concerning the Iraq War, while you were catastrophically wrong? It is a very simple question, that should take two seconds to answer.

March 2003[edit]
Days before the March 20 invasion, a USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup Poll found support for the war was related to UN approval. Nearly six in 10 said they were ready for such an invasion "in the next week or two." But that support dropped off if the U.N. backing was not first obtained. If the U.N. Security Council were to reject a resolution paving the way for military action, 54% of Americans favored a U.S. invasion. And if the Bush administration did not seek a final Security Council vote, support for a war dropped to 47%.[1]
An ABC News/Washington Post poll taken after the beginning of the war showed a 62% support for the war, lower than the 79% in favor at the beginning of the Persian Gulf War.[2]
May 2003[edit]
A Gallup poll made on behalf of CNN and USA Today concluded that 89% of Americans thought the Iraq War was justified, with or without conclusive evidence of illegal weapons. 19% thought weapons were needed to justify the war.[9]
