"'Not enough troops, equipment in Puerto Rico, says general in charge of relief"

"The Defense Department has not sent enough troops and vehicles to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico but will soon send more, according to the three-star general newly in charge of coordinating the military response"

"For example, on the military side, we're bringing in both Air Force, Navy and Army medical capabilities in addition to aircraft, more helicopters. ... [But] it's not enough, and we're bringing more in.”

"The Pentagon has already allocated more than 4,000 troops to help in rescue and restoration efforts to the U.S. territories, but it wasn’t until Thursday, eight days after Maria slammed the Caribbean, that U.S. Northern Command sent Buchanan."

"Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Friday on CNN that Trump should put the U.S. military in charge of handling and delivering aid to Puerto Rico. He asserted that only the Pentagon could repair the logistical issues preventing aid from reaching island residents."

Now perhaps if the Commander in Chief had have spent more time on Puerto Rico than he did his fabricated NFL issue and golfing they might have discovered the need days ago, it's eleven days out now, Senator Rubio did, but I forgot, conservatives have been telling us the President had his staff on top of it so he didn't have to get directly involved.

And lets not forget, as we've seen regurgitated here as a defense, the Governor of Puerto Rico says everything was running smoothly, "a good news story"

Great......another whining, complaining, kvetching, pessimistic, bleak, discouraging thread on all the manpower, work, help, aid, military & private salvage involvement, charitable efforts, federal assistance to Puerto Rico and its useless local government.

No, just the reality conveyed by the General put in charge

Yeah right.
Everyone already admits that communications were just about physically impossible, we're coordinating from a distance for an island no less, things are coming together now and will be getting better. You know nothing about going through hurricanes and procedure.

The General is on the island, and it has been eleven days out, hard not to admit even if events are as copacetic as you'd like to believe that the react wasn't a bit tardy

What's wrong, pussy? Can't take a reality check on your feckless, tweeting, golfer-in-chief?

Obviously, either does Orangetweet.

Yes 11 days and Obama would have had the entire island put back together by now just like he personally shot Osama

You can't just survey and say "we need this" and exactly this..after you start to reconstruct after the rescue phase you find out wher you need more.
Most importantly - I've never seen this kind of devastation -maybe to Haiti- but Haiti hasn't got anywhere near the development Puerto Rico does.

So there is no metric, no ready made model to copy.
By the nature of the devastation, some needs come up as you work thru it

Did you even check the date on this article, anchovies? :rofl2:

He's taking charge. That's what a general does. That's what is needed there...a responsible adult on the ground. Plus, I don't see or hear him ragging on the Prez.

You have to be a Russian bot.

Then why didn't they have him or someone similar there earlier to take charge?

And he wasn't "ragging" on anyone, just reporting that they hadn't planned enough and needed more help

Yeah, Friday, the same day Rubio echoed similar thoughts, that is the day before yesterday, duh

That was last week, wasn't it, anchovies?

Isn't Little Marco a (defeated) Trump opponent, anchovies?

Is the "general" you cited blaming Trump, anchovies?

Answer, anchovies. :rofl2:

Too funny, last Friday, 9/29, today is Sunday, 10/1, and by the way;

"Puerto Rico didn’t get hit by one hurricane, it got hit by two hurricanes. I mean, the second one hit Puerto Rico as a Category 5. I don't believe anybody's ever seen that happen before, hit, land with that kind of velocity.” – President Trump

Guess you got to take the Category thing up with him

They started with what they started with. Now it's better. And, I said I did NOT hear him ragging. :palm:
Now it's getting better. Roll with it.
