Honoré: Trump doesn't care about people of color

It is almost like some Democrats have no clue as to what is involved in the logistics of that, clearing ports for ships, clearing runways etc. They watch too many movies thinking help is going to be there (even in the states) immediately. My suggestion to Signalmankeith is get your lazy, whining fucking ass down here and I am sure I can get you a job driving a truck to get these supplies (which have been coming in quite steadily the last few days, round the clock)to the people that need them. You know Signalmankeith, put your money where your fucking mouth and "cartoons" are. Chickenshit.

Not the point, the reaction was slow, next Tuesday is nearly two weeks removed and now the Presidemt is going to investigate? He was in Texas, Florida days later

He mentioned the hurricane once in his weekend NFL charade, and logistically they are just beginning to catch up, one would have to wonder if the outcry hadn't drowned some of his tax cut attention he still might be in limbo

And please, don't regurgitate the nearly week old one line quote from the Governor as proof everything is moving along smoothly

Well, Sailor, once Trump was criticized bigger things started to happen, it wasn't just the Democrats, it was the mayor and people on the ground pleading for help. Bitching can at times get things done.
By the way, Ken is a Vietnam vet, he did his time.

What a shameful response to the crisis in Puerto Rico by Trump? This is Trumps Katrina moment!

It is hard to believe that people can be so dumb and pathetic. Liberals are the biggest lying dumbfucks on the planet.

Yep; it's not like you can fly anything into the country or have laws you have to deal with....not to mention two major disasters at home.

You liberals really have some serious issues to deal with; I doubt that even a professional can help you with that. I cannot wait for the second Trump administration. Perhaps that's when all you lying liberal dumbfucks will finally immigrate to Europe and Kanukistan. :rofl2:

On Saturday, the island’s main port in San Juan reopened and 11 ships arrived, the AP reports, bringing 1.6 million gallons of water, 23,000 cots, food, and electrical generators. More than 2,500 National Guard members have been deployed to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The Coast Guard and Army Corps of Engineers are working to reopen more ports on the islands. (FEMA is keeping a running list of federal resources deployed to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.)

It knocked out power in the US commonwealth of more than 3 million people, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said. And it could be months before the electricity returns.
"This is going to be a long road," Rosselló said Saturday.
At least 15 people are confirmed dead on Dominica, and dozens more remain missing. One person died in the US Virgin Islands, probably from drowning, authorities said. At least six people were killed in Puerto Rico, said Héctor M. Pesquera, the island's public safety director.
US President Donald Trump has pledged federal help for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
On Saturday evening, the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration confirmed that 4,000 members of the the U.S. Army Reserves have been deployed in Puerto Rico to help with Hurricane Maria recovery.
The governor said the island has a 20-day supply of gasoline and diesel and will install "water oasis" stations around the island. Many roads are impassable and gas stations were destroyed, he said.

"Federal partners are aggressively working to meet and overcome challenges to opening ports and restoring power to bring additional life-saving commodities and personnel into disaster-affected areas," the Federal Emergency Management Agency said in a statement.
Several flights and sea vessels with meals, water and generators have been arriving or are headed to Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands affected, the agency said.
Brock Long, the FEMA director, said on Twitter Sunday he would visit Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands on Monday.
Residents also have limited access to cell signal, causing panic among families at home and abroad who have been unable to contact their loved ones.
"I know many people who are living in the States are worried about not hearing from their families," González said. "Don't get nervous, we just have problems with communications lines."

Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Brock Long said the devastation wrought by the storm presents unique logistical challenges for the federal response. He said demolished airports and seaports have made it difficult to get aid and personnel to the stricken island.
Mr Long said 16 Navy and Coast Guard ships are now in the waters around Puerto Rico, with another 10 ships on the way. They include the USS Comfort, a Navy hospital ship. Planes and ships are also bringing in a military force to help distribute aid.

Between the Coast Guard and the Navy, the U.S. has 16 ships involved in relief in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, including the Amphibious Ready Group led by the amphibious assault ship Kearsarge, FEMA Director Long said at the White House Tuesday.

The Kearsarge has Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, aboard. At least another 10 ships were on the way or preparing to debark to the area, Long said.

At the direction of FEMA and local governors, U.S. Northern Command has overall responsibility for the military response in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, while U.S. Southern Command working through the State Department was focusing on the Caribbean's Leeward Islands.

As repairs to air traffic control systems continue, NorthCom estimated that the traffic flow to airfields in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands will increase dramatically over the next 24 hours -- from 3-6 aircraft per hour to 10 per hour for a total of about 240 aircraft per day, the Defense Department said in a statement.

i love that they want to associate Trump with katrina when harvey and irma were handled well.

Why wasnt trumps "katrina moment" in harvey or irma? :)

Do a bit of research and you'll figure out that he knows EXACTLY how much time it takes.

Really? Produce evidence that he did it "AFTER he was ferociously criticized for not do (sic) it sooner.

Yep 80%+ still without power is an estimate I've read, the grid was almost completely destroyed, it's going to take more than days or weeks to fix that. Before much of it can be fixed/replaced there needs to be destruction debris cleaned up to make a lot of these places safely accessible. It's going to take time even with the nearly $7 Billion being released to FEMA with much more to come.

there is nothing to tie onto. everything is gone
standing water and rotton open housing with debris and tangled wiring preventing supplies
passage even if more truck drivers can leave their house and come in

Puerto Rico Is Already an Environmental Tragedy. Hurricane Maria Will Make It Even Worse.

“[Maria] will essentially devastate most of the island,” Puerto Rican Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said in a Monday interview with USA Today. Most of the nation’s 3.4 million residents will lose power, structures will be destroyed, and neighborhoods will be flooded. There will be food and supply shortages. People will die. And the recovery will be especially difficult due to Puerto Rico’s bankruptcy and the $1 billion in damage wrought by Irma. But on top of all this, Maria could worsen the many environmental calamities that already exist on the island, posing even greater threats to public health—particularly in low-income areas—as boricuas struggle to recover from the storm.

In some ways, Puerto Rico will face familiar environmental threats caused by major hurricanes, but they’ll be compounded by the island’s financial and environmental woes. For instance, wastewater pumping systems failed in Texas and Florida after Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, causing major sewage spills. The same will likely happen in Puerto Rico, where most pumping stations run on electric power, but may be much worse due to the island’s “degraded and unsafe” electricity system. The local energy authority has already said it could take up to four months to restore power, likely resulting in prolonged sewage releases.

Based on my adventures on the interwebs, righwingers, Trump-ettes, and teabaggers are quick to assume, quick to speculate, and they generally jump the gun when it comes to supposition, conjecture, and random guesswork.

In short, everything you would expect from dudes who live in a fact-free universe!
