Hopefully in the future the folks there will realize they need to have a small inexpensive supply of goods set aside for hurricane season. It doesn't take much. Some big jars of peanut butter, cans of sardines & tuna...all for protein. Baby wipes, bleach, peroxide, boxes of crackers, cans of beefaroni and green beans plus plenty of water. I've used a Brita filter on my tap for a couple years now. Prior to that I bought bottled water in gallon jugs. I saved 30 empty jugs from those days and filled them all up with tap water prior to Irma. It's not paradise going through this, but a person can buy survival time for 2 or 3 weeks if needed.
