trump signs russia sanctions bill

I do not want to tell you anything good brother. I am offering you a perspective on Russian-China economic/strategic/military alignment. I meant it in good faith

Listen closely .. no offense intended. Your perspective on Russia is alarmist and as wrong as everything else you've said about Russia.

Military power is derived from economic power .. and Russia has little. Putin is an overblown little Napoleon whose time is running out.

Your perspective is based on your need to protect Trump .. that's it. Before Trump you didn't have that perspective.

If Putin had any concerns about a new direction, he wouldn't have interfered in our elections .. something you said never happened .. obviously it did.

So we should let Russia bully us, manipulate our elections, and not stand up to them because you are afraid?

jarod, stop.

No one is saying we should let Russia bully us, whatever that means, feel free to explain that if you want, bully us?

or let them meddle in our elections, and explain again how they "meddled" in our election?
You have been saying it so long you actually believe it's a real thing.

Wait until you type it on a public forum, go ahead, you will see how silly it sounds.

And if you simply mean that they hacked the DNC server and released real emails showing how despicable the DNC campaign team was, then maybe, just MAYBE the DNC team shouldn't have been so despicable.
and while you are at it explain how Russia collusion affected the election? hmmm, I'm listening...

OR
MAYBE, we should shore up our cyber security.
and besides, If you don't think we also cyber spy on Russia then I have a bridge linking Jersey to NYC I'll sell you.

How to avoid accidental war between Russia and the United States
https://rusreality.com/2017/06/30/how-to-avoid-accidental-war-between-russia-and-the-united-states/
In the sky of the Baltic States last week, Russian fighter su-27 flew five feet from the wing of the us reconnaissance aircraft RC-135U. Roughly speaking, this is the distance at which we’re passing on the highway the truck at a speed of 140 km/h, if you observe the minimum distance of the skid. In flight there is no system limiting the speed, no control of the leveling route: this Russian maneuver — and he was not the first — was a danger. Maybe it was a response to the more frequent flights by NATO in the sky near the border of Russia. Moscow just recently complained about it.

excuse us if we don't want to live in "liberal" world, where the only threats are from those economically equal to us.

newsflash racist, Nukes are real, Putin is real, Iran is real, North Korea is real.
And messing with Russia is just stupid, and the liberal witch hunt is dangerous in that regard.
What on earth do you expect to come of this investigation? We are not "protecting Trump" that's assanine.

We just happen to see it as a waste of time and resource in addition to being dangerous.
If there was something there you might have offered a clue to what that might be by now given your obsession with bringing down our democratic election process.

Ceasefire or No, US and Russia Remain ‘A Second or Two Away’ from Accidental War Over*Syriahttp://www.defenseone.com/threats/2...or-two-away-accidental-war-over-syria/139354/
In June, a U.S. Navy aviator flying an F/A-18 fighter jet shot down a Syrian-operated, Russian-made Su-22 fighter over Syria.
The Russian government threatened to treat as a target to any aircraft flying west of the Euphrates River, areas where the Russian and Syrian governments have been prosecuting a brutal campaign against mostly anti-Assad rebels. The U.S. has been operating mostly to the east, where, unlike the Russians, they’ve been targeting*ISIS.

Russia is in a position make air operations a lot more difficult for U.S. forces. The Russians have deployed some of their most sophisticated air defense systems to Syria, including the S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile and battery, which Russia claims can take down U.S. Tomahawk missiles. And then there are anti-aircraft radars on other jets, all adding to the complexity and raising the possibility of an*accident.
“When the Russians brought in more and more sophisticated systems we moved to where we were routinely flying within the range of those systems,” said Holmes. “Now, again, if you are flying along that de-confliction line and you are watching Iranian forces trying to come down and threaten the coalition forces you are supporting from Syria, you’re illuminated by Russian and Syrian air defense systems and it’s hard to tell which is which, and you are illuminated by Russian and Syrian air-to-air radars and it’s hard to tell which is*which.”

That would be too rational lol.

No amount of sanctions will stop Russian meddling attempts---if for no other reason than Russian actors not associated with the Kremlin could do it. And may even been behind it in 2016. Who the hell knows.

It's impossible to quantify the effect of the meddling.

But clearly, the best answer is protection.

i' e told you time after time I re-assessed everything after Crimea. This has nothing to do with Trump or Hillary per se' (although Hillary would be much more dangerous in WH)

Russia's economy is growing - like 1.7 % according to IMF projections this year
Russia and China have trade deals and military deals and do war games together.

Putin isn't de-fanged or on the way to being de-fanged,
He made enourmous gains under Obama in Europe and the ME -coupled with a strategic/economic partnership with China and weapons system ( means he has to be taken seriously)

Putin has been doing the same thing we do - screwing around in elections
This time Hillary's meme of "The Russians did it" was picked up by the press
and amplified by politicians of both parties in Congress ( political posturing)

:0) Sure .. silly, but sure.
I can't live in constant fear my whole life, it would be so depressing.

It is sad that all nations right now know we know we are weak and vulnerable because Trump is our President and Russia and China are using it to their full advantage.

exactly the opposite, but I don't expect you to understand that.
Obama was the paper Lion, world leaders laughed at him when he made any attempt at leadership through strength.
He didn't have the balls to back anything up, and especially the bad players were aware of that.
Which led to Iran continuing their nuclear program all the while managing to get Obama to turn over 100's of million of dollars that they could spread terrorism with.
Which led to ISIS spreading like wildfire into parts of the middle east we gave great sacrifice to secure.
Which led to Putin dangling him around like a cheap chain.
Which led to the Muslim brotherhood and God knows what else filling the void he left when he assassinated Ghadafi.

Trump is unpredictable, and so far has shown Putin, and Assad that if you cross his line he will fu@k you up. It's one of the first things he did.

World leaders have perked up and know American strength is back. Trump means what he says, that's just a fact.

Quite a few liberals on this board all of the sudden are quite pleased we have a strong, large military. Hmmmm.

no need for fear, there is a need for real threat assessments.
Trump didn't set up Russian-Chinese alliances-Obama made it much worse,
but even he didn't do that, it all started with NATO expansion post USSR

I do not object to a military that is capable of protecting our shores, most liberals aren't, we just don't like our military used to nation build or for unnecessary war.
