Pence won on style.

#144

Kim Il Sung took care of that, with a little help from about 800 million of their closest Chinese friends.

#ThatMexicanThing is being used to register them to vote. Pence hurt Donald last night . Kaine's thoughtful response to the abortion issue has gained him support, long time Republican voting friend is now voting Hillary.

" It's a longstanding US tradition to leave behind troops and air bases after victory.

Why should Iraq be the exception?" #145
"... today there are over 320,000 [U.S.] Army troops alone, deployed in 120 countries overseas. That's more than 60% of the entire [U.S.] Army." NBC-TV Nightly News March 9, '04.
Why must the U.S. tax payer bear this burden?
Is every other NATO member nation living up to their treaty obligation in spending the required amount on NATO defense? Out of ~28 NATO member nations, I gather 5 or fewer actually do.
As %GDP I imagine the U.S. is in the lead.

And the irony is, we're despised for it.

No.
We still have bases there because we're occupying them.

Actually, an occupying force subverts governing authority. Germany and etc, all have their own governments---and so would have Iraq, if Obama/Hillary hadn't dropped the ball.

I admittedly didn't know there was a debate last night until I saw so many channels with the debate listed. I turned it on at one point and the first thing I heard was Tim Kaine say that Hillary Clinton will be the "you're hired" candidate and not the "you're fired" candidate, and so from that one moment it was clear that that's all the debate would probably be and so I changed the channel. That's all I saw of the debate. I don't think my mind would have been changed regardless though if I would have watched it all.
You wouldn't. If you don't mind me putting it in my local vernacular, the VP debates ain't worth teets on a boar hog.

I don't care what side you're on.

Are you purposely ignoring the fact that Iraq didn't want us there, and refused to meet our demands? Why should we occupy Iraq, just because some idiot invaded, leaving the entire region in disarray forever?

Are you suggesting that we have to occupy in perpetuity just to keep the never ending supply of invaders out?

Because that's not a viable plan, and should have been considered before 'Shock And Awe'.

Are you ignoring the fact that they came to realize that was a bad idea as everyone knew they would ?

it was al-Sadr ( an Iranian stooge) who didn't want us to keep a residual force in Iraq. Obama didn't want to stay either.
The lack of desire by Maliki and Obama allowed the SOFA to kick in without re-negotiating.

It would have been a good idea to keep a residual force, to keep the Iraqi's a professional army.
But the politics on both sides nixed the idea.
