Something fishy re: Trump tax returns?

What are we going to do? At the end of the day we have the two most unpopular Presidential nominees (at least since they started keeping the stat). Neither one is considered trustworthy. Both have changed positions on multiple issues.

Baring something unforeseen one of them is going to win. There are Clinton and Trump supporters who won't change their opinion of the candidate they support short of something close to mass murder. There are a lot of people in between who don't particularly care for either candidate.

It looks like Kasich is the most honest of the GOP candidates and look where that got him.

I like watching Male Nursie dance, lol...

If Trump had a 100% Pants on Fire rating the hack would still insist on defending him. :rofl2:

His pitch to voters is I've been massively successful and I am so wealthy that I can self fund and I can't be bought.

First, I am not disagreeing with you, cawacko, I know you were simply quoting his pitch.

But let's take a peek at that claim of his. Trump is not paying for his own campaign. At the start, he loaned his political operation $1.8 million. By October he contributed another $104,829.27, and he had also received $3.9 million from donors, which accounted for the vast majority of the $5.8 million his campaign had taken in by then. His campaign website features a prominent “donate” button on its homepage. Trump has spent $5.4 million, and interestingly, about one-quarter of his spending has gone to Trump-owned entities (mainly his private jet company).

He will receive every penny of his 'loan' back from his campaign. The windfall income to his own companies means that he will actually profit from his presidential bid. His claim that he isn't funded by super-pacs is about as valid as his claim that he is self-funded, and that he is not soliciting donations. He is soliciting donations, and he is soliciting as hard as he can. Political Action Committees that favor Trump number at least 16, according to the Federal Election Commission data released electronically on Thursday, April 21, 2016, and they had raised $51,161,113, at that point. Interestingly, at that same point, anti-Trump pacs had also raised $32,586,990.

While Trump is laughing at a $7.90 donation from little old lady that he doesn't have the heart to send back, he is winking at his accountant.

Hard to say. His pitch to voters is I've been massively successful and I am so wealthy that I can self fund and I can't be bought. For the sake of discussion let's say he's worth $3 billion instead of his proclaimed $10. That's still wealthy beyond belief.

It really is a question I can't answer because I'm not a Trump supporter. I'm not sure if a supporter who would find that out would think Trump's lying or wonder why he wasn't honest about his wealth from the start.
He can now be bought. He is taking money, now and according to him that means he owes people.

This is scraping the bottom of the #Never Trump barrel lol. You're going to have to do better than this.

If Trump was seen in public raping baby seals and admitted it on national TV, you'd say "This is scraping the bottom of the #Never Trump barrel lol. You're going to have to do better than this."

Don't lie, hack, lol.

He's ashamed that he's not worth as much as he claims.

I think that is part of it, and for sure his tax returns claim he makes almost nothing, so he does not have to pay taxes. In addition to what it says he makes... he is afraid that the fact that he pays a smaller effective rate than most middle class Americans will become public and used against him and his tax code proposals.

It is funny to hear Romney say Trump must be hiding something....

Does that mean Romneny is admitting he was hiding something?

How much is Trump really worth? If history is any guide, the safe answer is: much less than he says he does.

Here’s a timeline of how much money—visualized with the help of graphs—Donald Trump has claimed to have through the years, and how accurate those claims were according to the best sources available at the time.

My brother is in the real estate biz. He gets audited every year, we're talking decades here, because you make your money differently. He pays little or no income tax as a result. He pays lots of other tax. Will average Joe get this ? Not likely.

I'm pretty sure it is the fact that he isn't as wealthy as he claims and that is the reason for not releasing the documents. His wealth is big part of his ego.
