It must be a magical time to be a racist

I don't understand. Minimum means smallest possible. Are you saying young black men can't even qualify for the minimum as burger flippers or car washers? Are they supposed to work for less than minimum?

illegals do thats why they get the jobs. Thanks dems! :good4u:

Of course. Cawacky and the Trumpkins pine for the days of the peculiar institution, I suspect.

They used to be.

Blacks mostly voted Republican from after the Civil War and through the early part of the 20th century. That’s not surprising when one considers that Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president, and the white, segregationist politicians who governed Southern states in those days were Democrats. The Democratic Party didn’t welcome blacks then, and it wasn’t until 1924 that blacks were even permitted to attend Democratic conventions in any official capacity. Most blacks lived in the South, where they were mostly prevented from voting at all.

The election of Roosevelt in 1932 marked the beginning of a change. He got 71 percent of the black vote for president in 1936 and did nearly that well in the next two elections, according to historical figures kept by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. But even then, the number of blacks identifying themselves as Republicans was about the same as the number who thought of themselves as Democrats.

It wasn’t until Harry Truman garnered 77 percent of the black vote in 1948 that a majority of blacks reported that they thought of themselves as Democrats. Earlier that year Truman had issued an order desegregating the armed services and an executive order setting up regulations against racial bias in federal employment.

thank you for educating us on the racist history of the democratic party. The drive to harm the african american community is still carried by our democrats today.

So that was news to you?

Can you understand why most blacks don't vote Republican any more?

Pretty sad that all cons can do is focus on history and ignore what's happening today. Maybe cons should have learned not to repeat Democrats' mistakes from the past.

No, I'm saying when you raise the rate higher there will generally be less jobs at those rates which creates the higher barrier to entry. The number of people you can higher, and would take on a risk on hiring, at $7 is much more than at $15/hr. So the people that don't get hired are those "at risk"

Pretty interesting how you call out Dems yet support their Keynsian economic positions

Lets also ignore the fact that the democrats made the blacks poor by shipping out jobs that they could have competed for and then hiring illegals for the rest..... after the black community trusted them with 90% of their vote. :good4u:

Democrats, you make me laugh, it wasn't just the Dems, both parties had a hand in passing the trade bills and allowing our high paying industries to go overseas.

But if the state mandated a minimum wage increase to $15, say, then wouldn't all businesses have to pay that or more?

It's not a lie though. There are not a lot of poor white people that live in big cities. They tend to live in suburban and rural areas. So crime in big cities is largely committed by blacks and Hispanics. That's just fact.
well that's it..simple demographics..
the next question is why are blacks more significantly disadvantaged they are forced to stay in urban ghetto..but Trumps statement was true as far as it went.
