No, that isn't racist. To say he acted "thuggish" and "classless" and that people across (white) America will judge not only Sherman but the Seahawks based on a, what, 3 second interview seconds after he made a spectacular play against a player he had a personal grievance with to secure a trip to the Super Bowl is bullshit. And, in my view, it's got everything to do with racial stereotypes - the same ones that led people to label Kapernick, with his big headphones and tatoos and jewelry, a thug or classless and the like.

That's what you're insinuating, that somehow a word originating from India for theives and vagabonds (is that racist?), used primarily to refer to fucking Italians and Irish, is somehow racially motivated to insult black people.
 
First of all, the origin of the word is completely fucking irrelevant to its modern usage.

Second, I said nothing of the general usage of the word "thug" whatsoever but instead focused on the usage of the term in specific contexts.

Third, you aren't helping your case by pointing out that the word has historically been used to refer to marginalized ethnic groups in the United States.

You liberal assholes. The word has been used to describe gang members for decades. And gangs have historically been ethnic, be it Italian, Puerto Rican, Irish, Russian, Chinese, black. Why do you turds now have a problem because gangs are fashionable among blacks in the present day?

Justin Beiber does this all the time and nobody calls him a thug. If you look at social media sites and look at the comments you'll realize the reactions of people upon those who are belligerent. When Beiber was acting out due to the influences of his friends I recall reading several if not hundreds of posts calling his friend, little ZA, a thug yet if Beiber is no different why would the attacks of calling his friends "thugs" be addressed towards them and not Beiber?

BTW I never said the word "thug" was racist, I said it has racist undertones because of how commonly its said and addressed towards. Like I said I think the word is overused and I think people don't know what a real thug is. Trust me, the thugs I know would simply put a gun to your head and make you strip down and steal everything from you, that is, if they don't kill you. THAT is a thug. Another idiotic response. Stop referring to a person's political standing and look at the fucking thread. The title of the thread suggests that the word is overused to describe outlandish behavior. This fucking guy was off adrenaline and going at another guy who had previous beef with. He isn't a thug for talking shit about another player. It's called fucking trash talk. All athletes do it, it's a part of the game. He should have said it better because its national television but the point is Sherman isn't a fucking thug for talking shit to Crabtree. Only mindless drones who think Stanford graduates think shit talking NFL professionals are thugs.

Funny Deion Sanders wasn't a big fan of Kaepernick standing up there like a butthurt baby with his headphones around his neck.

Now I have always thought it was dumb for players or coaches to have to answer questions. But that is what they signed up for.

On a separate note, could you give us a list of words that "offend" the blacks and you uber sensitive liberals that are supposed to be racially "coded", since y apparently cracked the code?

Oh, this is perfect. Is it thuggish behavior to suggest that another person is less of a man than you because he references a music act that you dislike? I mean, at least Richard Sherman had an objective basis on which to call Michael Crabtree a "sorry receiver" (check Crabtree's stats against the Seahawks over the past 4 seasons). You on the other hand . . .

I never said Sherman was a thug or displayed thuggish behavior. I do think he acted like a punk bitch. I'm also a Niners fan who grew up in Oakland and hates every Raiders fan whose favorite team is now the Seahawks and favorite player is now Richard Sherman (since the Raiders are such a sorry organization their only joy in life is to see the 49ers lose).

Ummm, when it comes to Justin Bieber calling another man out is ok.
