Is "Thug" an overused term with racial undertones?

Dung, you really don't know what thuggish behavior is? You're from around Boston right and you've never seen thuggish behavior?

I'm asking you what you mean by the term.

I never said Sherman was a thug or displayed thuggish behavior. I do think he acted like a punk bitch. I'm also a Niners fan who grew up in Oakland and hates every Raiders fan whose favorite team is now the Seahawks and favorite player is now Richard Sherman (since the Raiders are such a sorry organization their only joy in life is to see the 49ers lose).

I'm glad that you never said Sherman was a thug or displayed thuggish behavior but "punk bitch?" You're better than that, aren't you?

Ummm, when it comes to Justin Bieber calling another man out is ok.

There seems to be a similar thread in your posts. The punk bitch thing, the man card thing. It's a little disappointing.

You morons on the left and your 'coded language'. The term thug has been used to describe BEHAVIOR. It has nothing to do with skin pigmentation. You simply want to MAKE it racist because it makes you feelz better to get up on your high horse and denounce them evilz racist.

More often than not, the term is used to denounce young black men because they don't act how old white guys think they should act.

Dude, I'm a 49ers fan. I had my heart broken. Is it really shocking I'm not jumping for joy at Richard Sherman's comments? If it were any other game against any other team I would probably think it's hilarious and loved it. Since it was done against my team and cost us the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl I find nothing humorous about it. Yes, I'm a 49ers homer. As a USC grad I'll be rooting for the Seahawks AND Richard Sherman in the Super Bowl.

Now I know we all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences. In my experiences friends 'busting' on each other is nothing more than good friend. I like and respect Sun Devil, he is a USC Trojans after all which is why I said to him what I did. I also prefaced it with 'I'm just busting your balls' to make it clear there was no malice or ill intent in what I was saying. So I have no problem in that context saying a man can lose his man card over referencing Justin Bieber. I see no harm in that.

Yeah, we covered that last night, SF.

It just strikes me that otherwise intelligent 40 year old man should be able to criticize others without resorting to emasculation and gender stereotypes (and yes calling another man a "bitch" or suspending his "man card" qualify).

The above is complete bullshit.

You simply proclaim it as such so you can once again run around screaming 'THAT'S RACIST!!!'.

yeah, that 40 year old should instead just run around calling people racists... that would be much better.

I'm just asking you to describe "thuggish behavior." I understand your team lost and no, I don't expect you to like anything about Sherman.

That's fine. As long as you know what you're doing and are OK with how others might perceive it.

Regardless of you two being USC morons, you don't have to apologize for it. Dung is simply being his normal douche bag self. He likes to think of himself as enlightened and elite, looking down upon all others. When in reality he is just a douche bag from MA.

What a sanctimonious piece of shit you are.

And you can run around screaming what you think about the usage of the word and others can agree or disagree. America: what a country!

Cawacko - my roommate's girlfriend is from LA, a diehard USC fan, and a Raiders fan. She rooted for the Niners because they represented Cali.

The fact that he lives in Boston and thinks the word 'thug' is generally used by old white guys to describe young black guys is fucking hilarious.

I just like to say nasty stuff about white ethnics because there's no longer anything special about them. We don't go out into the streets and hand them wads of cash to go out and vote Dem. We don't tell them they should look elsewhere for employment, while reserving monstrosly dangerous industrial projects for them. Calling an Italian a Wop is just funny now, and because they're white, their feelings don't matter.
