Why are liberals afraid to answer this question?

It has not been answered.
What has happened is that the liberals just keep repeating the same old talking points, that they've been hand fed.
That and the constant repition of what they THINK is going to happen afterwards; but there hasn't been anything explaining how they think this going to help anything.

All you have to do is explain how this is going to stop the murderer's, felon's and wife beater's from illegally buying the firearms, that they are already buying illegally.
By the way; from your constant references to back alleys and such, it's apparent that you've been watching WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to many movies. :)

IF YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE, A PAST CONVICTION FOR MURDER TO SOME DEGREE WITH TIME SERVED, OR A FELONY RECORD....THEN A BACKGROUND CHECK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM BUYING A GUN AT ANY TRADE SHOW OR GUN SHOP, AS THERE WILL BE A WAITING PERIOD BEFORE OBTAINING OWNERSHIP.

And if you sell a gun without doing a background check in a private sale, you will be accountable and subject to criminal prosecution.

But he's looking for how it's going to stop it altogether....it's not...but it will help.

It's already illegal for them to buy them, so how is this going to stop them from buying them illegally?
Maybe the chronology of the posts will help you arrive at an answer.

It's not but just because a criminal buys a gun illegally does not mean we have to ignore the methods they use to buy them. You may be happy allowing anybody to buy a gun but most of us want background checks for people buying guns everywhere but thru a private sale.

The fact that you're first link didn't work, which was verified by Howie, is unable to blamed on me; because you were the one that posted it and failed to check to see if it was a viable one.
That stupidity lies with you and you alone.

As to your original inability to understand.
Since I'm subjected to 1/2 of a forced ignore, the link you posted gives me no hint as to why it was posted in the first place; but you must obviously feel that statistics from the 2009 Federal Background checks has some connection.
Could you clarify your position on this?

We already have background checks for people that are buying guns everywhere, but through a private sale.
Private sales are exempt; but outside of that, background checks are ran.

You have me confused now; because you are complaining about something already in place.

"Since when do criminals obey laws" right. That's what you are getting at isn't it?

The instant you ask that question about one law you automatically ask it about every law. (unless you are bias and you only want it asked about the law you are against)

Since when do ALL criminals follow ALL laws? Name one law that has been made that has never been broken. Does this mean we should just stop making laws because it's just a "feel good" measure?

Speed limit laws don't stop some from speeding and endangering lives.
Murder laws don't stop people from murdering.
Rape laws don't stop people from raping.

So since when have we had the notion to stop laws just because they don't stop all criminals? The concept of; "Well they are going to get a gun illegally anyway so we should just let them get one at a gun store easily and faster" seems stupid to me.

With luck the police could be monitoring the illegal gun buy and the criminal could get busted. You might say, "doubt it" so I will ask you this. Should we drop laws because you doubt they catch EVERYONE. Or should we work on ways to improve the system.

Everyone has to prove they are capable to handle things in life. You cant just be a doctor. You cant just waltz in and say, "hey i'll be a doctor" and have people think "Well..........I can't tell he won't be a good one until he is proven to fail" You can't just go drive a car, you have to get a license proving you are capable. You can't just jump in and drive at any age and people won't judge that. They won't say, "Well, I guess if he does ok then I'm ok with it. But if he wrecks and kills someone then I won't be"

This isn't rocket science kids.

Nope...just universal background checks... you can do it one of two ways... with every purchase/sale, or have it done once every couple years as part of our driver's license/ ID.

I know....the Toomey/Manchin bill had it spelled out in black and white that any attempt to create a national registry would be illegal....but they don't let facts get in the way.
