Supercandy afraid of reality puts those who speak truth on Ignore...zygote not child!

I agree with Bill Clintons assessment on abortion. It should be safe, available, legal and rare. I'm very concerned about the high rates of abortions in our nation. It's a problem. What's incredibly stupid to me is criminalizing women over abortion. That is hardly a solution to the problem. Sex education, including a solid understanding or reproductive biology and the use of birth control is a step in the right direction as is making prenatal care more available and social support not just pregnant women but young mothers with dependent children as well are all steps in the right direction. So is holding young men accountable for their actions and educating them in reproductive biology and birth control.

That or we could force all young women to have one date with SF. That should cure them of ever wanting to have sex again.

A perfect example of why people should support Planned Parenthood. The biggest part of their services involve contraception and women's health. How better to lower abortion rates than to educate people and provide reliable birth control products. Should be Biology 101.

Please prove that.

LMAO... so you would rather kill not only those with genetic defects but millions of the unborn that do not have defects because a small percentage are born with defects? yeah... thanks for sharing a great example of the liberal mindset.

It's a matter of degree of suffering. Whether the child is born genetically damaged or born into a family of drug addicts and/or alcoholics they will suffer also. More than a few children come into the world suffering fetal alcohol syndrome. Brain damage. Of course most of society just considers such people lazy or dumb and to hell with them. Just another bum on welfare.

Then there's the children indoctrinated in a life of poverty. Society deals with them much the same way (lazy welfare bums) or throws them in prison for petty crimes not acknowledging they've been subjected to that type of lifestyle for the first 18 years of their life.

When society grows up then talk about limiting abortion. Until then, in many cases, it's the humane thing to do. The truth is, in virtually all cases, it's obvious those pregnant women do not want a child. We wouldn't consider giving a pet (cat or dog) to children who wouldn't look after them properly but we should force a woman to have a child she does not want?

Logic, man. Try to use a bit of logic.

Mott, you sound like you have a scientific handle on what is at the academic argument, but something here that you said is I think just a little disingenuous to insert with what you have to say so far...We hear all the time of those in support of abortion on demand that it is to "save the life of the mother", or "instances of rape, or incest", yet of the abortions preformed last year, how many of those actually were for those instances? Do you know?

According to the CDC:

"WHY ARE ABORTIONS PERFORMED?
On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 3/4 say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities; about 3/4 say they cannot afford a child; and 1/2 say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner (AGI).

Only 12% of women included a physical problem with their health among reasons for having an abortion (NAF).

One per cent (of aborting women) reported that they were the survivors of rape (NAF)."

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss6015a1.htm?s_cid=ss6015a1_w

So, 13% of abortions performed in 2008 were because of the usual defenses of abortion on demand from those constantly screaming the 'my body' meme....Of the 1.36 million abortions in America in 2008 that works out to, 176,800 abortions necessarily performed leaving approximately 1.2 million abortions performed due to convenience factors, or as birth control. This to me is unacceptable. And should be to minorities as well since black women are the most likely to obtain abortion services...Which was Margaret Sanger's plan in the first place...

"[Slavs, Latin, and Hebrew immigrants are] human weeds ... a
deadweight of human waste ... [Blacks, soldiers, and Jews are a] menace to
the race."
"Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need ... We must prevent
Multiplication of this bad stock."
-- Margaret Sanger, April 1933 Birth Control Review .

And this gem....

"[Our objective is] unlimited sexual gratification without the burden
of unwanted children ... [Women must have the right] to live ... to love
... to be lazy ... to be an unmarried mother ... to create ... to destroy
... The marriage bed is the most degenerative influence in the social order
... The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members
is to kill it."

What a wonderful woman that must have been eh? Disgusting.

Just out of curiosity was there a Mr. Sanger? :(

Ah, that is the million dollar question.

I didn't see the question because I have Bijou on ignore. But hence to say my argument has always been one of conception. Why do I need take responsibility for the result of an act that I have no say in approving?

"Senate hearings were held in November. Pro-abortion groups wanted the bill modified to include health exception. Senator Boxer proposed an amendment that allowed partial birth abortions "after viability where, in the medical judgment of the attending physician, the abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the woman or avert serious adverse health consequences to the woman." This amendment was not included in the bill.

Once more for the retards:
