Roadkill Experiment Shows 6% Of Drivers Are Sadistic Animal Killers....http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/07/r...ows-6-of-drivers-are-sadistic-animal-killers/

(Excerpt) Our friend Mark Rober from NASA makes some awesome videos, but this science experiment must be his best yet. He basically demonstrates that 6 per cent of all drivers are sadistic animal killers.

This is what he did:

• He alternatively placed a rubber animal — and a leaf as a control object — on the shoulder of a road: a turtle, a snake or a spider.

• He watched 1000 cars pass by and annotated the drivers’ reaction.

The results are quite surprising.

He found out that 94 per cent of drivers did what anyone in their sane mind would do: keep driving in their lane. Remember that the animals were on the road shoulder, way outside their driving path. They didn’t pose any danger whatsoever to their safety.

On the other hand, 6 per cent went out of the driving lane to run over the animals. Think about that: 60 out of 1000 drivers actually went out of their way to kill a living thing that didn’t represent any danger to their lives — and risking their own life in the process, no less. Six per cent were just cruel because they could for their own sadistic pleasure, I can only imagine. (End)

That explains a lot, doesn't it?

That 6% has gun 'rights'.

I am saddened by the loss of life, but the act itself does not surprise me. This is why I have a concealed carry permit. Lots of different reporting going on, but I heard that there was a 3 month old that was injured and my first thought was "who the fuck takes a 3 month old to see a Batman movie?" Get a freaking baby sitter or don't go.

do you understand that that kind of a reesponse comes out of your own fear?

Your brain is trying to construct a reasoning as to why the victims are not like you.

your thoughts are a way of telling yourself "this cant happen to me".

if you want to stop these types of events you improve our mental health system.

That is the smart way to approch this tragedy

thank you

we really do need to improve healthcare in this country in many ways.

Mental healthcare is really lacking here.

Its doesnt work unless EVERYONE can get mental care reguardless of ability to pay.

thank you

Very true. The state of our mental health care is pitiful. And those who need it, very often, are the ones who cannot afford it.

No, I'm of the mindset that gun 'rights' and their zealots enable nutjobs to shoot up movie theaters.

Why is it that you think people should live by your standard, but God forbid that you have to abide by theirs?

Now that is a great point, and has more to do with this tragic incident than gun ownership does...

the guns just make it easier to carry out these insane ideas.

reasonable gun laws can be constructed that will not infringe on the right to own a gun.

Maybe you would be willing to fix our heatlhcare system so all can get whatever help our physical conditions reguire.

then we can be reasonable about making gun laws to make it harder for this to happen.

we can have freedom and much more safety along with better heathcare if we act like smart people and work as one people to make it happen
