Fatal shooting at Denver screening of The Dark Knight Rises

I am pleased to accept your apology. In a debate such as this one often strays from ones intended point. (at least I do). My major criticism, and it is one with which I doubt I will ever come to terms, is a mindset in which the solving of almost every problem seems to hinge on violence. Violence is violence whether it is the beating of a woman, the chastising of a child, the killing of a prisoner, the invasion of a country, the killing of innocents or the killing of wild animals. It is, to me, a mindset, a bloodlust, a hollywood driven, false macho way of life that I want nothing to do with.

NOW it's a rant....

What do mean by chastising children?

the TRUTH is that Holmes bought his guns and ammo legally and was in his rights until he pulled the trigger.

Maybe the way liberals have TRASHED America drove him to it.

You can't see it but there are just under 100,000 people , in this country, that are shot every year. The USA has 15x the gun violence of any developed country. Either we are collectively insane or we need to make some rational changes. It strikes me as odd that the same people that cling to their guns are often the same ones that espouse a hatred for our collective government and people. They are the same people that will prevent a woman from having access to healthcare and blame the poor for everything they dislike. Antisocial behavior is an illness that is often expressed by these same people who really don't believe in a democratic society or the melting pot that is America, yet, they love to bray about how they are the 'true patriots', the true 'Americans'. I often get the feeling that they would gladly participate in another civil war so they could take full advantage of their hatred and violent natures. Being a socialized and rational human being I choose to address problems and work toward solutions that don't include violence, hate and force.

Problem is that every solution dipshit liberals come up with ALWAYS makes things worse. Keep your solutions

Or maybe he was gay and wanted to get married but conservatives told him to ****off because he didn't deserve that right.

Don't matter, now he's gonna get the needle, good riddance.

Can somebody explain how it is possible to buy 6000 rounds of ammunition over the internet?

www.sportsmansguide.com

I bought a case (1000 rounds) from these guys ... delivered to my front porch. A friend and I promptly went out and popped the cap on each cartridge that weekend. When I was in college a hundred years ago, I would load rounds for my 357 throughout the semester. I couldn't afford it all at once. I would have somewhere around a thousand rounds by the end of the semester so that after finals I could shoot all weekend. It was my stress reliever.

I think many people don't realize how quickly 1,000 rounds will be gone if you like to shoot. I buy in bulk also, and have a blast when a shipment arrives.

We have culling in the UK, one of the biggest problems currently is the huge deer population which cause many car accidents.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/7429164/Urban-deer-a-growing-problem-for-UK.html

There have been places in the US that tried to remove deer hunting. They then had more roadkilled deer than ever, and quite a few human deaths from the accidents.

Culling is fine. But, if done by the gov't, it costs tax payer money. Here we fund the conservation efforts of the state to a large degree with the proceeds of the hunting season, accomplish the cull, and allow our people to carry on a tradition that goes back to the dawn of humanity.

probably because it's fucking LEGAL to buy/own combat gear, gas masks, bulletproof vests, handguns and semi automatic rifles. If you dont' like that, get the fuck out of my country, bitch!!!!!

Ahh...the good ol' tried and truly asinine right wing "Love it or leave it!" response.

then we're left arguing about who is right in defining insane and rational. I consider people who want to ban guns or even further regulate them are insane.

Yet the insane one was the one who had a stockpile to equip a small army and you're defending his right to it even though he killed 12 people and injured over 70.

So people shouldn't be able to buy a gas mask? Why would buying a bullet-proof vest be a crime? You would also outlaw crotch-protectors? And you want guns gone, and won't even allow women to have Mace to protect themselves?

A rational person would have perhaps questioned why he was buying so much? A rational person could have, if the laws were in effect, notified the authorities of such a purchase.

This statement only holds water if you want the gov't watching every purchase. If I go into a store and buy a gas mask, the clerk doesn't know what else I have purchased at other stores. If I order it online, my order is just one of dozens that were filled.

Just who would have seen the total inventory of what he bought?

Yes there is culling, yes we kill animals in slaughterhouses for food, yes we occasionally kill a rabbit on our roads: none of that is relevant because none of those acts are driven by a mindset that says killing is a sport. Bloodlust doesnt come into any of it. You have never seen a fisherman salivating at the thought of ending a life. Salivating when thinking of his catch on a plate, yes.
That is the problem with all this. Just read some of the posts from the RWLs here. Many are incapable of rational thought, it is violence, violence violence all the way. What did that idiot heston say about his cold hands? Buggered if I can remember, the man was an oaf as are/were his followers and worshippers.
I wonder, sometimes, if these fools realise what they are missing by living in their nasty gun/bible driven worlds.

Roadkill Experiment Shows 6% Of Drivers Are Sadistic Animal Killers....http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/07/r...ows-6-of-drivers-are-sadistic-animal-killers/

(Excerpt) Our friend Mark Rober from NASA makes some awesome videos, but this science experiment must be his best yet. He basically demonstrates that 6 per cent of all drivers are sadistic animal killers.

This is what he did:

• He alternatively placed a rubber animal — and a leaf as a control object — on the shoulder of a road: a turtle, a snake or a spider.

• He watched 1000 cars pass by and annotated the drivers’ reaction.

The results are quite surprising.

He found out that 94 per cent of drivers did what anyone in their sane mind would do: keep driving in their lane. Remember that the animals were on the road shoulder, way outside their driving path. They didn’t pose any danger whatsoever to their safety.

On the other hand, 6 per cent went out of the driving lane to run over the animals. Think about that: 60 out of 1000 drivers actually went out of their way to kill a living thing that didn’t represent any danger to their lives — and risking their own life in the process, no less. Six per cent were just cruel because they could for their own sadistic pleasure, I can only imagine. (End)
