They did SAY that. But as is often the case with the Chinese government, they LIED. They have claimed they would crack down on the wet markets before. But it's a multi billion dollar industry there. I don't believe them. Do you?

At this time, the consensus medical opinion in this country is that mandated social distancing and shelter in place is the best option for reducing the infection rate. Even Trump's own chief medical expert agrees with that consensus.

We might have had more options if Trump had not spent critical months denying and downplaying the risk -- if we had aggressively and preemptively prepared and planned for a pandemic of this nature
