Individual mandate shot down

I have to agree with you. In fact Republicans take great pride in the skill of their messaging and being disciplined about staying on message where as Dems are infamous for their circular firing squads.

Wow.. If that were the case we wouldn't have had McCain... The republicans circle up the firing squad all the time. All I need to do is look at the last CO Governor's election.

With the TEA Party groups, the old-schoolers, the religious people all fighting each other we usually end up with a much worse choice than Romney.

Hold on there. It was that same calloused self-centered, backwards-thinking Nancy Reagan who convinced Ronnie to finally address the AIDS epidemic. Nancy Reagan and Liz Taylor probably did more to gain overwhelming support for addressing the AIDS epidemic than any other public persons. Nancy pretty much single handedly convinced Reagan that he was wrong about AIDS.

That's nice. So Nancy had it right all along about AIDS. Glad to hear it. However, my point still stands regarding stem-cell research, which was and is controversial because of what is sacrificed in the process, and how Nancy did a 180 on her 'moral' position because the circumstances became personal for her.

There are exceptions to the rule. When I was active in Republican politics we put a lot...and I mean a lot of effort into the message and communicating that message consistantly so that people would hear the same thing from different sources over and over again. I do agree with you though that McCain ran a lousy, though honorable, campaign.

Yup, that's true about Nancy on stem cells and it will be true about Grind on HC reform. Just a matter of time.

I watch it happen over and over...

One guy turns out to be a liar and loses, another decides to run third party, splits the vote and boom we get Gov. Hickenlooper. There's nobody that can circle up the firing squad like the republican party, especially in Colorado.

The Ds have four people willing to spend almost any dollar amount to ensure the message is consistent for the Ds... The Rs? Hayul no...

got that right. If Holder were a republican you can bet your ass that there wouldn't even be talk of any of them holding him in contempt.

must be a CO thing. From what I have observed D's are horrible at staying on message. Hell Even the VP fucks up with his messaging.

What a fucking stupid comment. You ever hear of limits and deductables? You have any idea what it costs for cancer treatments for level 4 cancer? It's do our die pal. That aint an exageration and it aint fucking cheap either. Like to the tune of $2 million in a year and a half. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

LOL... then he had a low cost plan. Deductibles should not break anyone who makes six figures. Plans with caps on bene's are cheaper. This goes to knowing what it is you are buying. If you want full coverage with no caps, then you have to PAY for such coverage.

What an idiot! Health care is not one of the entitlements causing their fiscal problems. Please fucking explain to me how doubling your cost per GDP would help? HuH? Also, it may have excaped your xenophobic notice but the industrialized world is a much larger place than Europe and as for outcomes. You simply don't know what you're talking about.

Costs are not doubled per GDP simply by going with private insurance you dolt. Our costs for damn near everything are twice theirs related to GDP. Our education is, our defense is way beyond theirs etc...

Costs should be paid for by those using the service. Taking care of the poor and low income that cannot afford it is one thing.

Private insurance is cheaper for most people than a corporate or government plan. Because it is tailored to the needs of the individual or family rather than some cookie cutter plan that covers 'everything' for 'free'.

'xenophobic'??? That is truly a feeble attempt on your part. I didn't say Europe was the sole realm of industrialized nations, I mentioned that five countries in Europe are buckling under their entitlements. How do you think they will pay for health care now?

You also ignore the obvious... the government, like the private sector, cannot afford to pay for everything for everyone... without addressing the rising costs of health care. They are going to ration services based on some government hack deciding the cost benefit of said service for an individual.

I don't like the plan & opposed it, but I would say this about the last statement: I think most would rather have a gov't hack decide it, than an insurance company rep who is given quotas for denials of coverage and who profits from denying coverage.

Dude....I don't know if your aware of this.....but most people diagnosed with level 4 cancer, even the ones who 6 figure income, tend not to be able to work and those 6 figure incomes tend to go away.

LMAO... which is why the Dems held Miers and Bolten in contempt? If Holder was a rep while Bush was in office, we would be hearing the Dems and media scream to high heaven about impeaching Bush.
