Hello Darth,

Some things are more important than the economy. Such as life itself.

If the virus was actually as dangerous as advertised, you would have a point, but it's not, so you just look like an idiot for being frightened over a virus that's not even as dangerous as a common flu.

I don't think PoliTalker has any other mode than "idiot." ;)

The numbers go up and rightys claim that is proof that it is not a problem. I suppose that is rightys logic. We still do not have test kits.. That is what suppresses the numbers. I suppose Trump has slowed down the testing to keep the numbers low. But that will end. It will not matter. No matter what the tests reveal, rightys will claim it is not a problem. We all know that.

Hello Darth,

The fact that covid 19 has a lower death rate than the flu is why it is going to kill more people. It is less traceable, (it doesn't leave a quick trail of bodies which is easy to track,) so it will spread wider and further, killing more.
Nobody traces the flu and we have flu vaccines and flu medications like Tamiflu. At this point we have nothing for COVID19.

Its following the Italian/Chinese trend lines. But I hope you are correct.

No it isn't. You actually hope it does. But, it won't.

What makes you think that we will be more like Italy and not like S. Korea?

They have an older population
They were late to shut off travel and close entry to their country
They have a for shit healthcare system more akin to Cuba than the United States. They have been rationing for years.

But, I look forward to your analysis. Have you cleared it with Thingy yet? You aren't allowed to speak on COVID19 unless you are cleared by Thingy. New rule

I'm a doctor and I have had epidemiology . Based on the experience in China, S. Korea, and Italy COVID 19 is definitely more dangerous than the common flu. Plus we have Tamiflu and other anti virus meds and vaccines to fight the flu. Currently we have nothing to fight COVID19.

I just slap it down with my dick. works for me.

Not true there is both remdesivir and chloroquine, as well as several HIV drugs.

Social distancing works.

Ignoring social distancing leads to drastic spread of the disease.

RW propaganda leads to drastic spread of the disease.

The biggest reason why they got hit so hard is that, centred around Milan, are a huge number of Chinese companies that exist to support haute couture aka alta moda.

why doesn't Tamiflu help?

There are now 3,244 positive cases of COVID-19 in the US and 62 deaths.

What is your point? That the hysterics of tanking the stock market and destruction of our economy are warranted over something as benign as the flu? Where was all this hysteria during a far more dangerous crisis with H1N1?

You didn't seem this concerned when we had a far more serious epidemic and far more deaths with H1N1; why is that?

Why the hype? What is it about this flu that sets it apart from other flu's?

Its not the flu. I'm sure they have tried it though.

So true. The flu seems to be far worse:

So far, the new coronavirus has led to more than 100,000 illnesses and more than 3,000 deaths worldwide. But that's nothing compared with the flu, also called influenza. In the U.S. alone, the flu has caused an estimated 34 million illnesses, 350,000 hospitalizations and 20,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
