Corona Virus Peak Watch Thread

Still waiting on the college football playoffs super spreaders lol.

Wasn’t AL supposed to be hit hard? All of those Deplorables in the stands. I noticed college basketball fans are starting to be let in. Hopefully, the dam is getting ready to break.

Good point. All major get togethers are super spreaders and certain to produce a spike in infections, illnesses and death. Good for you to know that!

We don't want any dams breaking that release a flood of new cases.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Hopefully it won't be as bad as the Sturgis Bike Rally, The Tulsa Rally, or the WH parties. Time will tell.

It depends. The nation is suffering from COVID fatigue. Other nations, which got it under control, are opening but the US prolonged it's agony due to poor leadership and not will take longer to recover.

We are still struggling to get it under control.

Hello Darth,

Can’t help but notice the almost nearly mostly peaceful BLM protests didn’t make your list.

Those weren't as bad because they were outdoors, of shorter duration, and most participants wore masks, but I gave your post a thanks because it was irresponsible for them to gather so closely, and with at least some of them not wearing masks, or wearing them improperly.

The point of protecting one another, which is what we must do during this pandemic, is to avoid sharing air. It is true the BLM protests did not do a good job of that.

Hello Darth,

I meant it only takes a few brave souls to lead us out of this dystopia. Someone has to lead the way. Then it will spread like a happy contagion.

No. It takes all of us.

That's the problem. We still have so many who are totally blowing it off, pretending the virus doesn't exist. How inconsiderate and irresponsible. Even if they are young and healthy and do not fear for themselves, they could become unwitting carriers and spread it to others who are more vulnerable, callously causing deaths.

That's why it takes all of us.

Hello Dutch Uncle,

We are still struggling to get it under control.

Agreed. We're getting there. Maybe by Spring. It could take 5-10 years for the economy to recover.

Then, there's all those Gen Xers who attacked the Capitol who will also be unemployed. :)

Fortunately the misguided ones who physically attacked our own government were very small in number compared to all the rest of America who did not think that was the right thing to do.

If we have to rise up against our government it should be something that most of the nation agrees needs to be done.

I don't see any reason for that to happen.

We have the means to guide our government in any direction.

It is a government that we created ourselves, one that we manage ourselves.

If anyone is to blame for problems with our government it is We, The People.

I would put apathy right at the top of the list.

Most people don't know diddly squat about how our government works.

Most people are shirking their duty to become and remain well informed, and to knowledgeably oversee the performance of our government.

The more people who shoulder that responsibility, the better our government and country will be.

All protests are "rise up against our government". You and I are agreed that the success or failure of a violent uprising depends upon the size and popularity of the uprising.

Trump's was just domestic terrorism, not a revolution, not a civil war.

How did I know that was the one line in that post you would seize upon...
