White Women’s Rage: 5 Thoughts on Why Jan Brewer Should Keep Her Fingers to Herself

Honestly the first thing I see when I look at that picture is a woman jabbing her finger in some man's face.

Also as the Governor of the most racist state in the Nation (currently) she gets no benefit of any doubt from me on any racist implications.

Yes, I've read enough that I consider credible about Obama to believe that he's not what I hoped he would be as far as women go. I think he is a boy's club guy. Any liberal who objects to this, I would suggest they read Ron Suskind's book.

It's quite possible you have a racist and a man who tends to be dismissive of women having a confrontation.

It's possible that what I gleaned from the headlines I read is true; that she ran up to him and basically sandbagged him because she was looking for publicity.

It's possible that Obama is a big prick. I really don't know. I have no opinion on the meeting, and I think it's so trivial. The only reason I first commented on this thread, if you'll go back and see my post, is not because I give a crap about this nonsense. It was because the posts made here by men were gross and hostile and offensive to women.

Because that's all your Obama defense mechanism will allow to see.
Please provide proof of your "most racist state in the Nation" comment, so I can have a good laugh at your expense.

Well, I understand their point. Taken collectively, the behavior of the elected right (and it is very important to remember we are discussing the actions of elected officials here, not internet cranks like Yurt) towards Obama does indicate a disrespect that we have not seen directed at other Presidents, for the most part.

I think the most obvious example for me was that congressman from S Carolina who yelled out "you lie" during the state of the union. You're not American, but I assure you, that is simply not done. I have zero doubt he did it because Obama is black. Zero doubt. I can't prove that. But I know it.

This particular incident you have the added dynamics of a white woman and a black man. You can look at it from SF's point of view (or his claimed point of view) and say there is a large man towering over a smaller woman. However, you cannot dismiss hundreds of years of white supremacy where at the nod of a white woman's head, a black man could be murdered.

So there are many ways to look at that encounter, however since we are talking about Brewer, and since all other witnesses say this was in no way the big confrontation she herself is portraying it as, I think it's a tempest in a teapot.

But as part of a pattern? Well that is another story.

You are truly clinical delusional and should be committed for you own safety.

my good lord, you act as if everyone gave bush respect and no vitriol.

grow up and stop being such a far left partisan.

Quit the neocon bullhorn, Yurt, and just answer these questions: Did a Democratic Congressman EVER yell "LIE" during a Presidential address by the Shrub? Did a Democratic Senator or Congressman publically state that the Shrub was unqualified or "over his head"...DESPITE his record as a failed businessman and figure head governor?

No they did not. Now you just answer this question: Does the fact they didn't disrespect Bush in THAT manner, mean they didn't disrespect Bush at all?

Demean "the little woman"??? Hardly "little" or "a woman". She's a banshee, and a total prick. She lied. Initially stating that her meeting with President Obama, at the WH had gone well, and cordially, and then doing an about face, in her book....and President Obama, naturally, took issue, and undoubtedly, told her so. What? Because she's woman, a governor, a right wing nut, she's not required to be accountable for her words or her actions????? BS. If it had been me, with her finger in my face, she would have had a hand imprint, across her face. No Bones. Now take me to task.

And now we discover that Poet finds no problem with hitting a woman, who hasn't done anything physical to him.
But then Darla and Evince will defend him; because they UNDERSTAND.

OK, here is my position. If you believe that the Presidential Office is so sacrosanct, then it must surely apply to all holders of that office irrespective of political affiliation or race, colour and creed. That's simple logic, it patently doesn't though, as the Bush and Clinton years will attest most assuredly.

First off, I never stated or alluded to the notion that the Presidential office is "sacrosanct"...so get that out your head right now.

My statements along with others merely points out the FACT that the level of disdain and disrespect for this particular President has gone beyond the pale. As I stated earlier, NO ONE yelled "LIE" during a Presidential address during the Bush or Clinton years.....and no congressman or Senator publically question the President's competancy during the Bush or Clinton years....they may have criticized policies and decisions, but the NEVER said he was "in over his head".

Like it or not, the Brewer incident just highlights an attitude that festers just beneath the skin of the American psyche ... a black man in charge is NOT acceptable and must be demeaned, discredited and dismissed.

It isn't a 'bold' statement you coward. It is a statement of fact. NO man should ever hit a woman. Period.

If the woman is a lesbian and bigger than you and you are scared... walk away. There is no excuse for hitting a woman. Only a coward would do so.

Unless it is self defence and even then it should only be to prevent further violence.

This doesn't offend me but I'm sure someone would claim it is disrespectful to say No during a SOTU.

Sez you. In this political climate? Considering the context and content of the movie, The Help???? Considering that Charlize Theron is from South Africa, and Viola Davis is a black American actress? Quicksand.

Yes, "sez" me! Your opinion is no more or less valid than mine. If YOU don't like white folk commenting on black people in any language that YOU consider "disrespectful" DESPITE it's content and intent NOT BEING SO, that's YOUR problem. You don't like the movie? Fine. You don't like/trust any non-black from South Africa? Fine. But to pick a fight when there is no cause (just your PERCEPTION of what can be inferred), is just being as silly as the bigots who carry on about ANYTHING black people say. "Quicksand" can also be black people falling into the trap of complaining about ANYTHING said about them from non-black folk...hyper-sensitive to the point of absurdity.

With demure confidence, unintimidated. "Lady-like". Poised. Feminine. Intelligent. And able to manipulate men and circumstances to her favor without ruffling feathers.
The power of the cooch, manifested. Women are the rulers of the world...some know, and others don't. I got your back.

"The power of the cooch..."

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE

Well said, that man.

Whatever. In my opinion, my opinion is not only more valid than yours....it's the only one that merits consideration. Sue me.
I understood where Charlize was coming from, but similarly, she has to take responsibility for her "poor choice of words", given the subject matter, and who she was referring to.
The key scene in the movie was "Minnie" serving up her sweet potato pie, resplendent with her own feces baked in the dessert. Not only did I "whoop"...Sissy Spacek's character, the victim's own mother "whooped". So..."hot shit or "hot as shit" is problematic. You can't tell me what to be hyper-sensitive about. Lincoln, unfortunately for you, freed the slaves.

As far as this "hot as shit" comment goes I read the following article. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...theron-doesn-t-get-about-black-hollywood.html (Excerpt) Apparently Theron didn’t get the memo that mainstream culture strictly dictates what beauty is. (End)

I disagree. My pet peeve is when beauty contests showcase and judge a person's talent such as acting or singing or education, etc. Beauty is usually associated with "looks"; appearance, dress, eye and hair color, etc. A beauty contest, in my way of thinking, is not about a beautiful mind or a beautiful heart. I believe that, years ago, it wasn't but politically correct nonsense has crept in so that talent is part of the equation. Somewhere along the way judging a person by looks alone is politically incorrect. However, we do know what is beautiful. Studies have shown using artists sketches that facial beauty is largely based on symmetry.

Symmetry:
1. the correspondence in size, form, and arrangement of parts on opposite sides of a plane, line, or point; regularity of form or arrangement in terms of like, reciprocal, or corresponding parts.
2. the proper or due proportion of the parts of a body or whole to one another with regard to size and form; excellence of proportion.
3. beauty based on or characterized by such excellence of proportion.

Simply stated it's the distance the eyes are set apart. The length of nose. The size of mouth/lips. The left half of the face being a mirror image of the right side.

The attraction to women with ample breasts and a sizeable butt goes back to the days when sizeable breasts were considered better milk producers, even though that has been proven incorrect, to a sizeable pelvic area allowing easy child birth which is a correct deduction.

The same reason muscular men are considered "beautiful"/handsome by women. For thousands of years women depended on men to protect them. Women were attracted to "power". Of course, today, power is based on earning ability so it's natural that "smarts" becomes an attraction but the healthy, strong male is still more attractive than the old millionaire.

Well, that's my rant for tonight. In the world of the male, chauvinist pig, "T & A rule!" :D

Okay, having read the article I can understand what all the flack is about. Theron's statement was simply missing the point. No matter how "hot" she may think Davis is (and let's face it, that was a BS compliment from Theron, who would NEVER equate Davis with her personal "hotness"), Davis is pointing to the STILL sterio-typing that goes on in Hollywood with regard to black folk. It would be interesting to get Theron's response to EXACTLY what Davis was pointing out in a Q&A.

And you have a point. As I stated before, I got carried away with my emotions, and Jan Brewer, and compromised my true feelings. Women are a many splendored thing.
What I meant was that lines are drawn, and when those lines are crossed, say when a woman executes violence or become the perpetrator, then in defense a man may have to fight force with force, in self defense. How many women are on death row for murder? Let's not pretend that women cannot be as vicious or as deadly as a man. They can.
I was living once with a lesbian, who was slightly bigger than I, and we got into a confrontation, and was precisely all up in my face pointing and being threatening....and she decided to call the police. The police told everybody to calm down, but because I had paid rent, I couldn't be thrown out.
Truth be told...some women are not women, per se. Some are, for all practical purposes, "men". Act accordingly. Everything is not "black and white"....but includes exceptions to rules.

But this wasn't about "self defense.
This was you saying that if a white woman had put her finger in your face, that you would have slapped her.
Then like most of those with abusive behavior, you apologize afterwards and say you made the statement in an "emotional state".
You coward.
