You must live a very sheltered life.
Is that your final answer?

Some random tweet is now considered a good source?
You can subdue him without killing him.
That isn't a random tweet. You can follow the link in the tweet and read the article. Folks nowadays love to pretend they don't know how the internets work, but we know better... You do... You just chose to be ignorant here.
He was caught being mentally ill in a big blue city. Penny will be prosecuted and little to nothing will change. What did Jordan Neely do to deserve being put in a chokehold?
It sure seems to me there was likely an easier and less deadly way to restrain him than a chokehold.
I think the guy who killed him overreacted, but I could be convinced otherwise cause I don’t see much evidence of what actually happened.
At first blush, it looks like manslaughter to me?
Sure if you have years of training in how to subdue someone without killing them.
What if you think he is subdued and let him go and he pulls out a gun and shoots a kid?

There is nothing to cheer here, nor is there evidence of deliberate murder. Jordan threatened the lives of those in the rail car, and also expressed a disregard for his own. Being a danger to himself and others someone decided to take some action to protect the people around him, and to try to stop the man from hurting others or himself.
While the action did result in the death of Jordan Neely, there are many who might take that same action if they felt threatened by someone threatening them or others around them and acting erratically.
What we will learn at his manslaughter trial was whether a reasonable person might take that action. Whether a reasonable person might feel threatened by Jordan at that time. Even the prosecutor doesn't believe he was trying to kill Jordan, the charges made that clear.
In NYC? More like Zimmerman’d; overcharged and freed at trial. He will be Kyle'd.
Still no creditable source.
That is all understandable. The keyword is "excessive force". That is the deciding factor.

Not particularly. In the case of a civilian taking action, it will be whether other reasonable folks would take that same action. Excessive force is something you use for someone in the peacekeeping profession, not for a civilian defending against threats to themselves or others.
Excessive as it turned out. Was it reasonable given the circumstances?
