I wondered the same I think I heard he has an EOTech sight which is over $500 plus a Daniel Defense AR which runs $2500. I would normally have guessed he was a loner that sat in front of a monitor playing very realistic shooting games but that at least so far, does not to be the case.
Another disturbing thought was the fact he was shooting for 10 minutes OUTSIDE the school and that should have given plenty of time for a lot of LW to be on the scene. Yew a few 5.56 rounds might have would have been able to get the lock on a metal door but that would have taken even more time. That door should never have been left open and the second shots were fired outside, all doors should have been automatically locked.

I suspect this kid passed his FBI 4473 background check because all his past actions were committed as a juvenile and I suspect those were sealed.
I have changed my opinion on allowing those under 21, to purchase a long gun, of any kind without a personal background check done by LOCAL LE, and ALL records of infractions are listed during this investigation.

Of all the mistakes made that contributed to this happening, the decisions made by the cops were the worst. The full story has yet to be told and the screechings from the left and right are just that until all the facts are out. Frankly, I am surprised there was not a lot of violence from the parents directed at those stupid asshats standing around for 40 minutes while lives might have been saved. Hopefully, every one of them will decide to "retire" and seek other employment at a position where they will not need critical thinking skills.
