Big gaps in your reasoning:

Councilors and such reports can keep a kid out of school, but the kid has to be evaluated by a licensed psychiatric doctor before being listed ineligible to buy a gun. Given Abbotts defunding, that wouldn't happen beyond a certain point.

And why a black market? By you gunners creed, shouldn't he be able to just buy weapons from legal gun owners without any registration or license?

There should be no restrictions on concealed carry nationwide. That would stop some mass shootings.

Why is no one talking about Mental health here?

It's a terrible thing what that young man did, and it's a horrible death those innocent children died.

But leftists aren't trying to prevent situations like that from happening again, they're just trying to take guns from everybody.

There are viable options that would produce better results.

Options like unrestricted conceal carry in America nationwide. Why concealed, you ask? Because nobody needs to know.

Also, if somebody wanted to be a bad actor and everybody's weapon is on their hip and easily accessible, that's not a good idea.

Furthermore, reopening State Mental Institutions needs to be on the table.
