What a leader. This guy has been amazing to watch - inspiring his people & standing up to a bully in one of the all-time "David v. Goliath" situations.

When he was offered safe passage out, he said he didn't want it, and needed ammunition instead.

Just incredible courage, especially when you look at American politicians, who can't even stand up to the fringe wings of their parties, and are afraid of mean tweets.
 
Quite a contrast to the Afghan leaders who jetted out of Kabul the minute they heard the Taliban were on the horizon.

Assassins have tried to kill Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky at least three times since Russia invaded his country last week, a new report said.

The assassination plots were foiled when anti-war Russians fed intel to Ukraine about two separate mercenary groups that planned to launch the attacks, the Times of London reported.

“I can say that we have received information from [Russia’s Federal Security Service], who do not want to take part in this bloody war,” Ukraine’s secretary of national security and defense told local TV stations, according to the Times.

'Walt' has suggested that Zelensky buy or make Drones to conduct an Air War on the Invaders.
He claims they are simple to make and don't cost that much.
Naturally, the West could NOT be involved in this.

Anybody think 'Walts' idea has any merit?

Mr Z knew there was nowhere he could go and survive.

Yes he is brave and a leader but he knows he will not survive this.

Prolly makes him braver still as he's not shot himself.

NATO would have flown him to London in a heartbeat where he would have been reasonably secure.

This is where Putin learns the lessons of history. Ukrainians are fighters. It took Josef Stalin seven years to put down a Ukranian nationalist insurgency after WW2. And Stalin was allegedly the most ruthless dictator in history, with the battle-hardened Red Army at his disposal.

This is a snippet of 'Walt' (probably a covert agent or Intell analyst) veiled suggestion:

I'm not as optimistic about his odds of survival/Ukraine's odds of success. Either the Russian people that don't want this war need to step up, or the rest of the world does.
