There are many countries which do not allow the political participation of anybody with a criminal conviction- yet he was allowed to participate .
Whether he had a case against the Russian state or not he blew it by being stupid.

The article explains a far Right or "Neo-Nazi" element and a coup seven years ago that formed a new government that has sidelined that element and given Ukraine a current, broadened democracy. Not exactly an
excuse for destructive intervention by a highly undemocratic superpower.

Medvedchuk was under house arrest since his arrest last year for treason. He escaped from custody before being arrested again.
That sounds a lot like Russian activity where they charge the political opposition with crimes. You don't get to claim Russia can do it but Ukraine can't without revealing your lack of morals, ethics and logic.

When was Navalvy allowed to run for President or any national office? Your own link shows he was not allowed to run for such an office.

Countries have the right to self-determination. Putin is taking Ukraines rights away with violence. Ukraine has been getting militarized. if you pay attention, you will see that Putin is showing why that was needed. NATO rejected Ukraines entry. However Ukraine has a right to determine their government and who they choose to align with. The west was not going to attack Russia.

no NATO did not reject Ukraine membership.
It s still part of NATO expansion as well by the NATO Open Doors enlargement policy. (Article 10)
