You pay, but the rich don't!

Yup. Gets reported upon regularly.

You're either a LIAR or an ignorant blowhard. Observe!

The Social Security Trust Funds are the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) and the Disability Insurance (DI) Trust Funds. These funds are accounts managed by the Department of the Treasury. They serve two purposes: (1) they provide an accounting mechanism for tracking all income to and disbursements from the trust funds, and (2) they hold the accumulated assets. These accumulated assets provide automatic spending authority to pay benefits. The Social Security Act limits trust fund expenditures to benefits and administrative costs.

Benefits to retired workers and their families, and to families of deceased workers, are paid from the OASI Trust Fund. Benefits to disabled workers and their families are paid from the DI Trust Fund. More than 98 percent of total disbursements from the combined OASI and DI funds in 2013 were for benefit payments.

A Board of Trustees oversees the financial operations of the trust funds. The Board reports annually to the Congress on the financial status of the trust funds.

They don't have to. The fact that the fund is made up of government bonds makes them nothing more than IOU's and when a government is 17 trillion dollars in debt and operating at a deficit each year there is no money to be had. So those IOU's are nothing more than a bookkeeping mechanism.

Newsflash for ya, son.....our entire economic system is nothing more than AGREED UPON numbers and such. So by your own assessment...EVERYTHING about our economy is just "a bookkeeping mechanism".

Your buddy said the Fund doesn't exist....he's either ignorant of the facts or just a liar (your personal ideology non-withstanding)..... http://www.justplainpolitics.com/sh...pay-but-the-rich-don-t!&p=1485994#post1485994

Everything else aside 'pseudo-jingoistic'? What am I saying that makes you use that term?

Naa-unnh, son....it's the "everything else" that you want to ignore that brings me to that conclusion.

I answered you point for point....kindly return the courtesy, then we can move on.

If the government told you chicken crap was chicken salad, you'd be first in line, fork in hand wouldn't you? Well, dig in, and you can have my helping too.

Now you're just acting stupid....grow up. Your buddy was wrong, and YOU just can't acknowledge a fact that doesn't fit your ideology. No one said reality was easy, toodles.

Never happen. Too many entrenched interests and those moderate republicans like you will never rock the boat. Don't worry you don't pay income tax on your unemployment welfare and I am sure that it will be extended again. Have a beer and relax

In the 2012 Republican primary I voted for Ron Paul who supports eliminating the income tax. For President I voted for Gary Johnson who proposed eliminating the corporate tax. If those are moderate positions then what do you consider on the right regarding taxes and which candidates did you support more to right of Paul and Johnson on this issue?

As an aside you do pay taxes on unemployment money.
