Yes, Texas’s Blackouts Are The Result Of Unreliable ‘Green’ Energy

Nope. Methane still gas in these lines. It hasn't become a liquid or solid.

There was moisture in the gas which messes with the pumps and diesel engines.

Unspecified problems.

Not unspecified at all.

"According to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the shutdown of the nuclear reactor was caused by a disruption in a feedwater pump to the reactor, and that caused the plant to trip automatically and shut down early Monday."

On February 15, 2021 during a major power outage that impacted much of the state of Texas, an automatic reactor trip shut South Texas Nuclear Generation Station Unit 1 due to low steam generator levels. According to a Nuclear Regulatory Commission report, the low steam generator levels were due to loss of Feedwater pumps 11 and 13.

And where do you get this number from?

ERCOT that runs the system. Actually, it is more like 7%.

They ARE frozen and unable to operate.

They are not expected to run in freezing weather. They are not required to be winterized as done in some states (MN).

Currently, it looks like GA is going to choose Republican electors.
AZ looks like it might also, but seems to be further away from actually choosing.

What would the generators have to keep up with? Unless one used natural gas for heat then a portable heater would be adequate in an emergency if one can get gas to run it with, and could afford one..

What is a puzzler (not really though), is why fools continue to blame a part of the system that only supplies 10-12% of the energy while ignoring that part that provides 50% of the energy.

Then too, if the same fools used common sense what would they have to whine about.

They do not use natural gas for heat (boilers) generally in TX trapper. They use heat pumps. And I highly doubt portable electric heaters are a staple in TX. No demand normally.

Here’s what really happened: the vast majority of our fossil fuel power plants continued running smoothly, just as they do in far colder climates across the world. Power plant infrastructure is designed for cold weather and rarely freezes, unlike wind turbines that must be specially outfitted to handle extreme cold.

It appears that ERCOT, Texas’s grid operator, was caught off guard by how soon demand began to exceed supply. Failure to institute a managed rolling blackout before the grid frequency fell to dangerously low levels meant some plants had to shut off to protect their equipment. This is likely why so many power plants went offline, not because they had failed to maintain operations in the cold weather.

Dude stop guessing and making up excuses.

Our Governor knows the real reasons why the Grid failed. He is the one, along with other State officials, are the ones in charge of making decisions to invest in winterizing the grid or not. He also knows that decisions were made to risk it, and not winterize elements to the grid to guarantee the service in temperatures that get down to 10% F. or below. Our state has not seen arctic temperatures below 0 degrees f. in about 130 years.

But the truth is our grid always fails in several areas where temperatures get down into the teens- and that happens every year with various different Cold Fronts that sweep down the center of our nation. It has just never failed in so many areas, and the state has never had a blizzard that affected every corner of the state.

As I said, they knew the risks- AND THEY WERE WILLING TO TAKE THEM.

But, you can bet your ugly ass, now that Political Careers are threatened, THEY WILL GET UP OFF OF THEIR ASSES AND WINTERIZE OUR GRID FOR UPCOMING SEASONS TO COME.

The ERCOT financial statements are all public domain and online, so you can look that up and see that money was no excuse for not winterizing the vulnerable grid points.

I would say that the Governor has about a year and a half to resolve this matter and fully winterize the Grid- OR HE WILL PROBABLY BE LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB Come mid-term elections next year.
