Worst president of all time? Worse than bush the lesser even??

That ^^ could be the most clueless statement ever uttered.

YOU sir are hereby disqualified from any further conversation on the Iraq war, it's merits, cause or reasoning to both.

LOL

Coming from someone who was no doubt a huge cheerleader for what turned into the biggest foreign policy blunder of modern times.

I was right about Iraq - you were incredibly wrong, even though you can't admit it. Don't talk to me about who is "disqualified" from this discussion. You do not get a mulligan on that one.

I can't recall an issue or event that one side (the left) was so clearly right about, despite fierce criticism at the time.

Righties want to rewrite the history of it, but we don't forget that stuff. It's shameless to try to portray yourselves as the "experts" on foreign policy & the Middle East after such a gargantuan mistake.

Thoughts??

I recall many ppl declaring bush the lesser the worst or all time. That still hold true?

History only seems to remember the truly consequential, the memorable, the profoundly existential -- when it comes to history's final judgement of American presidents.

George Dumbya led us into two failed wars (one of which he lied us into), squandered American's hard earned international reputation, and took us right to the precipice of a Second Great Republican Depression.

That is a record of abject failure that is hard to beat.

Our fat ass orange clown is completely out of his element, and he seems to be a clear and present danger to America, but I can't put him in a historical context yet. Except that he might be the stupidest, most arrogant, least well informed President we have ever had. And no one ever lost the popular vote by the margin and scale that this Fat Ass did!

let me understand who I may be entering a conversation with here.
So you're saying we didn't exhaust "other options" before going into Iraq to verify the man didn't STILL have his WMD's?

before you answer that you're welcome to google the chronology leading up to.
OR
you can bloviate and we can not discuss

"There were about 700 inspections, and in no case did we find weapons of mass destruction," said Hans Blix, the Swedish diplomat called out of retirement to serve as the United Nations' chief weapons inspector from 2000 to 2003; from 1981 to 1997 he headed the International Atomic Energy Agency. "We went to sites [in Iraq] given to us by intelligence, and only in three cases did we find something" - a stash of nuclear documents, some Vulcan boosters, and several empty warheads for chemical weapons. More inspections were required to determine whether these findings were the "tip of the iceberg" or simply fragments remaining from that deadly iceberg's past destruction, Blix said he told the United Nations Security Council.

However, his work in Iraq was cut short when the United States and the United Kingdom took disarmament into their own hands in March of last year.

Saddam wasn't even a threat to his direct neighbors - there was never a compelling case that he was a direct threat to U.S. security. And yeah - we had other options to verify WMD's. They were called "inspections," and they were working.

Are you trying to argue that invasion was justified - a 10-year war just to "confirm" that there were NO WMD's? That's actually sort of crazy. What a careless attitude toward our military.

These hawks are forgetting that Hans Blix wasn't done with the inspections before bush called an end to them.

I mean, Republicans just keep trying to out-do themselves here. Bush will go down as easily a top 10 worst Prez of all time, but Trump really might be the worst when all is said & done.

What gives? Is it too much asking for even a little bit of competence? Say what you want about Clinton & Obama, but both will go down as middlin' at WORST, and Clinton will likely be viewed pretty high on the list historically.

Bush was terrible - in over his head, with a lasting legacy of a 10+ year unnecessary war. Trump is simply a clown; a pathological liar and narcissist, who might actually be remembered for tweeting more than anything.

Can you guys please elect better people? I don't want to see worse than this, which seems to be the direction you're headed.

I think the Democrats have figured out Rump... He wants to redo anything Obama did, so if we help him... by making it more liberal, as long as he can take credit for it, he will agree! We get single payer, he gets to call it RumpCare!

The 2 bolded statements are truly wonderful "instant irony."

An immediate threat is just that - a clear & present danger to the homeland. No compelling case for that w/ Iraq in 2003, even if they DID have WMD's. They had no way to deliver them.

But don't take my word for it. Read the NIE's prior to the war.

Give me an example of what you would consider a clear and present danger? Please be specific. It shouldn't be hard for someone with the foreign policy chops you claim to have. Are you afraid to be specific?

Exactly....

Kinda reminds me of this Ramesses II also erected more colossal statues of himself than any other pharaoh. He also usurped many existing statues by inscribing his own cartouche on them.

He was a kid when he took over as well........

Iraq was a mistake. Period.

No, it was not. Period. Your 'lets just contain him until he dies' strategy was a failure. It was also provoking groups like Bin Ladens to attack the US. It was a prime RECRUITMENT tool for terrorists. You know... that thing you claim is bad.

Hans Blix

Hans Blix in the last hearing before the war started stated that Iraq was not cooperating and the inspection team could not verify that the weapons that had been documented in 1998 had been destroyed........lib'ruls are dishonest and will lie about this repeatedly.......fuck them......

These hawks are forgetting that Hans Blix wasn't done with the inspections before bush called an end to them.

isn't it true that Blix himself said he was making no progress?.....(warning: its in his written report to the UN the month before the war started so you might want to be honest about it)...........

Better go back & read the transcript of his presentation to the UN on March 7, 2003.
