Why we get bent, because people believe what they report and it isn't accurate. One reason I don't care for them. If you don't care about this, then why post such garbage? If you don't care? and I wasn't thinking of anyone else I was addressing you, my fellow, although, former, Alaskan. I was going to send you a note and ask where you lived and when, visited your site, but got distracted! I watch my grandchildren during the day. It is always nice to know another Alaskan. I am a rare bird, as you know, liberals in Alaska are out numbered, but some of my best friends are Republican. We may have to agree to disagree at times. It is that way with my sister in Vermont, love her to pieces, but we are polar opposites when politics enters the picture. She sent me an article today from the Heritage Foundation and I had to "educate" her and the family members she sent it to. Told them I was tired of always getting there emails and never sending my own to counter, but I am a new woman and have been silent long enough, most of my siblings are conservatives to varying degrees, i also informed all of them not to talk politics at our reunion this summer because I wasn't going to walk away like I usually do. I also told her I would bring her any of the 50+ books I have on my shelf about modern American politics, written by Buchanan to Zinn.

I am tired of being vilified because my politics are considered evil because I am a liberal. It is a silly notion.

I don't watch late night TV, it is when I read or sleep, but I thought the quote quite good.

Sorry, everyone else about the rant, I am alone tonight, hubby works at Kuparuk on the North Slope, but i do have a big mean dog, ahahaha, in case anyone sends any thugs for me because I am a liberal.

Just thought I would let you get to know this crazy liberal grandma who loves to talk politics, religion and bake! I am one helluva baker! German chocolate cake, anyone?

Okay, sorry..but your post rubbed me the wrong way...and as you can see, I can be pretty sarcastic myself..I didn't notice you were from Alaska.
Yes I just moved from Alaska six months ago after living there since 1993. but for now I am still an Alaskan at heart..I was up by Fairbanks, and I just got tired of the extreme winters, they finally took a toll on me, especially the dark months..I need sunlight or I can get real cranky.. you see how cranky I can get here, just think of me in the months of no sunlight..:eek:
I don't have a problem with people having other political views, I have mine and they are conservative, have been for too many years to ever change..I can be outspoken about politics, like to take pot shots just for fun, and sometimes I really do just don't care...

I have often been disappointed by the lack of action of Democrats. When things aren't going their way, the first thing they do is compromise on the most important issues. They aren't a left wing party, they're a moderate party, and it's best to keep that in mind. They have no values.

You can start anywhere you want; provide the story line and links to those story lines and support that with proof that the story line is "dumbed down or a lie....

The popularity stems from the fact that viewers know when they are hearing common sense instead of ideological non-sense! My point was, that if you don't know that Fox lies, then you haven't been paying attention, I knew the Google thing would press your buttons and it did, ahahaha, popularity doesn't mean truth and fairness or educated journalism, one just has to look to GWB's popularity as evidence of American intelligence and what they fall for and how uneducated we have become as a whole. We aren't #1 anymore, in fact, our record is rather dismal.

You go ahead and believe that just because they are #2 that it means they are factual and accurate in their reporting. they are entertainers, like Stewart and not true journalist. McKinney has been right about damn near everything she's said.

She was the first to take a strong stand against the war and Bush while everybody else was goosesteppin' to the beat of "patriotism."

She was the first politician to take a strong stand against electronic paper-less faith-based voting and she was there when the fraud was conclusively proven in Leon County, Florida.

I could go on, but the bottom line McKinney was attacked BECAUSE she spoke truth to power, not because she's loony.

Americans aren't interested in politicians who speak truth, just the ones that put on a good show.
