No, it is not exactly when it is allowed. As you seem to acknowledge in the follow up sentence, that is a part of it, but one needs to have a RATIONAL fear that their life is in danger.
 
all you would have to do is say "I feared for my life" and you could kill anyone.

I find it hard to imagine how it was that Zimmerman could not buck him off in such a scenario. I would point out, if allowed, that it might be difficult to buck him off if you are holding/reaching for your gun.

A witness is NEVER allowed to testify to the veracity of a witness. It has been that way for years. That way, the cops can't testify that every alleged victim was truthful, or seemed truthful. And REALLY STY, all of the sudden you BELIEVE a cop?

Lastly did Martin know Zimmerman was carrying a gun? If you are being followed by a man do you confront him or do you get to safety? You are being silly now and blinded by your partisanship

Who said he didn't? But, it is clear he threw the first punch. That much is not in doubt.

Why does the left insist that Trayvon couldn't have made other decisions? Like go right home from the 7-11? Why does the left not wonder why he would be wandering out in the rain when all he wanted to do was get the skittles for his brother before a basketball game? Why does the left still believe that Trayvon is just an innocent little 12 year old and not a wannabe pot head thug as portrayed by his own facebook account?

Yeah, and there is no proof that Zimmerman ever attempted to use commensurate force. Trayvon's only bruises were on his knuckles. Did Zimmerman ever try anything less than deadly force? As a prosecutor I would point that out and that there is no indication that he attempted to use purely defensive maneuvers.

You cannot stalk someone in one incident... he followed him. That did not give Martin justification for instigating a physical altercation.

It's not clear that he made the first aggressive move, which might not have been a punch, or that he threw the first punch, which might not have landed.

LOL... try it with a friend who is about your size... Have him put pressure to keep your head on the ground. See how easy it is if you cannot move your head/neck... I think you will find the sudden twisting/bucking hurts your neck. Add in the person hitting you (I am sure your friends wont mind doing so to you)... then see how easy it is. Please report back as to how it works out for you.
 
Again, I am not following this very closely but it seems to be looking better for the Defense than it was in the opening days.
