Tge 14th Amendment does In fact limit a States right to discriminate against certain groups. I support that limit on States Rights, it took the civil war to get that limitation on States rights, but we won that war and got that limitation.
but it does not list which groups, type of people, or any thing like that. It's vague like that for a reason in my opinion and the reason is because it is ultimately up to the state and local government to decide. Equal protection under the law in Texas could be different than Indiana for example. The original 13 colonies were great examples of how cultures in each state can influence their politics and if you didnt like it or agree with it then you either convinced people to change their minds or you moved somewhere of like minded people. In 20 years that culture could change again but atleast its not being forced to change by a central government. You cant force a culture to change just because Washington DC dictates it. At the end of the day it creates more resentment than it does acceptance in my opinion.
