Yes scary, but to me not as scary as Cruz.
Yes, I don't get this.
Yes scary, but to me not as scary as Cruz.
Wow...that's kind of a scary thought.
Yes scary, but to me not as scary as Cruz.
Well, he actually did.
But the real point is that his years in office so damaged the "Bush brand," it's amazing Jeb even bothered to run at all. After Iowa and then New Hampshire, he'd have been better off just dropping out, if only to save face. He'll never get the nomination. He won't even get close to it.
And that's why I was really surprised when George W. came out of the shadows to try and bring Jeb's numbers up.
W. sent himself into political exile because he knew that the impossibility of putting another Bush in the White House was caused by him. The fact that they dragged him out for the campaign shows the kind of desperation that says they ought to pack it in.
I absolutely agree. For two main reasons.
First, if Trump were to actually win we'd be rid of him soon enough. He'd say or do something so heinous that he'd be impeached and removed in the first few months.
Second, and more worrying, Ted Cruz is a religious ideologue. I can't even begin to imagine the kind of hell our country would become if we had a fundamentalist Christian in the White House. Fortunately, however, Senators and Congressmen on both sides of the isle can't stand him, so at least there's that if he were to win.
It may be a perfect storm for him. Right now, I'd probably stick w/ picking Hillary over Trump. But who knows what's going to happen in her campaign? I feel like there is some huge October surprise in store for her, either w/ the emails or Benghazi, or something else entirely. She's a really flawed candidate.
I'm shocked that Republican primary voters are putting the whole nation through this. There are some really good candidates in that field. It feels like such a hail mary.
Yes, I don't get this.
And here is what I've been saying all along. Are you paying attention Norah? No fundamental Christian can be true to his beliefs or let them be made public or he cannot be elected president. He cannot let it be known that he believes there is absolute right and wrong...which I believe to be true. Your last sentence is important...and has been to me with Obama in the White House. Congress is there to keep these guys in check. I trust them to do their jobs. Cruz doesn't scare me nearly as badly as Trump does. I do hope that I get the opportunity to vote for Rubio though.

right wing idiots will say BUSH IS A HERO forever
Have... have you been paying attention to Congress lately? They're so dysfunctional they couldn't keep a dead body in check.
Jeb blew it - he could have been the frontrunner, but he was blindsided by how Trump campaigns, and didn't know how to react for a few crucial months there.
It's too bad; he & Kasich are both pretty reasonable nominees on the GOP side, and would have stood a chance in the general. Now, the party is left with the extremists & a complete clown.
Cruz seems intent on imposing a Christian type sharia law on those of us who do not see things the same way he does. That scares me more than some egomaniac who simply wants to prove himself to his dead daddy.
Its difficult to do much with a dysfunctional Congress.
We are very likely to have a Democratic Congress in 16' so that might help hold Cruz back, but imagine what he would do with a sympathetic Congress. We would have forced prayer in School and required attendance in fundy Sunday School.

Jarod, that's just nuts. But along those lines, I went to a basketball game a couple of weeks ago. It was an away game at a mostly black school. They beat us easily and we're ranked #5 in the state in our class. They are ranked #1 in their class which is quite a bit larger. Anyway, the local "pastor" of the Baptist church announced the game. He was great. They had a Senior lead a prayer (gasp!) before one of their girls sang the national anthem. It was the greatest experience I had had in quite some time. They auctioned off an old pickup truck at halftime as a fund raiser for one of their classes. After the games I went down to shake the announcer's hand (he led the gym in "happy birthday" to one of our elementary students who's sister plays on the HS team) and I sought out the Superintendent and shook his hand. It was a giant Trumplike (minus any vulgarities) thumb in the face of those seeking to change a culture that has existed peacefully for decades in the land that I love. I loved it.
As usual Jarod is full of sh*t. Nice story above.
Cruz is not scary if you happen to share his brand of Christianity... but to the rest of us its very scary.
