Why Republicans have over reached

Out of touch? Dude, you're the last person to accuse anyone of that. First, I live here in Ohio and you don't. Second, I have family in Wisconsin and you don't. Third I've probably spent more time in Alabama (I have family in Phoenix City) then you have in either Ohio or Wisconsin. Besides, we only have to wait and see what happens to determine who is right and who is out of touch here. Ya'll can deny the polls all you want to, accuse them of bias, poor phrasing, etc but the facts are, in both Ohio and Wisconsin a large majority of the public oppose the actions of Governors Walker and Kasich on this issue.

Imagine that.... more specific questions are asked.... and voters opinions suddenly change... hmmm... amazing

They all ready have the signatures and the Bill hasn't even left the house yet.

That's not what I heard.

We'll have to see what happens.

I don't live there, but I hope these criminal public union leaders get their political $ ripped out of their hands.:)

Mott, I have never known anyone so out of touch with the pulse of America. Perhaps it's because you live in the armpit... maybe it's because you are a pinhead liberal? I don't know, but you are just out there in left field with this. All across this country, states are trying to figure out how they avoid going bankrupt. For some bizarre reason, liberal dims are running around proclaiming "there is plenty of money!"

How true. Dixies right on top of this one.

Mott, you must live in a glass enclosure. Around a bunch of people who have a view that's not the norm.

Unions, and union leaders are going to get what's coming to them.

Politicians will do what they're told are their replacements will.

Tax payers are fed up with watching their money get sucked out of them to give to politicians from union(s) (bosses).

It's a shame we have to trust the republican party, but the rage is so great that you can expect to see a lot of Reps get replaced.

I am sorry you are so confused by this, but who you know and where they are from, has nothing to do with Reality vs. Delusion. Perhaps the people up there are more delusional than people down here? Perhaps the polls are slanted toward the pro-union position because most of the real jobs and economy are tied to union labor up there? Nationwide, the people support what Gov. Walker has done, when it is accurately and honestly portrayed. Most people do not find it unreasonable or barbaric, and it conforms with the idea that most people have, we need to cut spending. So... you know, Mott... if you want to remain in denial and believe some silly poll up north means something, you go right ahead! You have split yourself from reality! This is certainly not the first time you have been there!

Yea well why don't you go up to a University Professor or a School Teacher or a Policeman or a Fire Chief and call them a low end public servant and see how that works out for you. That's pretty shameful of you 3D to try and marginalize people in that manner. Would "low end public servant" also include your father? If I remember correctly he's a WWTP/POTW Operator.

My dad basically comes home with stories about stupid people in the Public Works Departments. In fact, as soon as he became a supervisor, he knew from experience how to get rid of really attrocious people - don't try and fire them; write really glowing reviews and get them bounced up into a different part of the bureaucracy. He's made numerous people in the local city/county government loathe him for landing them with his problem people. He even got ambushed by a couple of guys at a funeral once for pulling that.

Pretty sad the system has to work that way but it sounds like your father was a smart man.

Dude it works that way in the private sector too. This principle your father applied is called "The Peter Principle." That is, within an organization, people tend to rise to their highest level of incompetence and there they tend to stay. Peter described kicking incompetent people upstairs to middle management as "percussive sublimation", which is similar in affect to the Dilbert Principle. Point being, this principle applies to any organization involving a hierarchy.

Again, you'll see in Wisconsin come election time. I bet there's a large change in the make up in the State House in both Wisconsin and Ohio.

Its even sadder that morons like you continue to pretend that unions are 'the middle class'. Here is a shocker for you.... the majority of the middle class is NON-UNION... and they are getting sick of paying for public sector unions benefits.

It most certainly does not work like that in the private sector 99% of the time. Shit lot's of good workers were laid off especially this last round. Not so much in the cushy benefits laiden world of the public sector.

Why wouldn't these people get fired in the private sector as opposed to moved to different positions because you can't fire them?

That's bullshit Topper. I know that public sector workers have good benefits but hell about $15,000 grand of my total compensation is in benefits and that exceeds most public workers and they make, on average, less then their private sector counterparts including benefits. So that's a stereotype that implies public workers are not good workers too.

what's bullshit, you say I'm wrong then you go on to say your benefits suck. Your $15,000 does not come close to the teachers in Wisconsons benefits. LOFL

And people get fired in the private sector exponetially faster than public.

as a self employed person, my first reaction is wtf shouldn't you pay taxes on that $15k like the rest of us do.....and by the way, as we've seen from the data recently, it isn't true that public workers make on average less than private sector counterparts......

It is true that public sector makes less. Republicans are using a bullshit list of Gov workers make X vs private making less. Compare education levels and public makes way less.
