If it is a NATO plot it is not a very good one. They could have had bases in Ukraine nice and close to Russia. They could have done what Putin dishonestly claimed they were doing, but they rejected Ukraine membership. They said they did not meet the requirements partially due to corruption hanging in. That makes their claims wrong, wrong, wrong. It is proof that NATO was not trying to get into Ukraine.
