Why Obama is hard to beat.....

No, you presented an either-or, which is a false dichotomy. The Constitution requires the federal government to defend our borders. Over the years that has been interpreted as defending our economic interests throughout the world. No one has the position that we should simply be dropping bombs.

It's the interpretation of "economic interests". One isn't supposed to force a country to sell a product or have a certain political system. Spreading democracy should not be considered a proper aspect of economic interests. That's the difference between the Repubs and the Dems. The Repubs intended to stay in the countries they invaded whether overtly or covertly. That's why Cheney and a few others were ranting about Obama withdrawing troops.

We have used "spreading democracy" to great effect as cover for horrendous intervention in many countries in service to corporations. It has nothing to do with "democracy"....never did.

I think that you're interpreting Cheny's motives here. I doubt that he cares either way if countries that we have invaded are democracies or not, merely that they are stable and aren't fostering terrorism against us.

But all this, again, is merely a smoke screen because you are afraid to admit that you like freebies.

ROFLMAO.

Moron. Cheney cared about Haliburton.

Cheny? Now who's the moron? LOL

Lemme get this straight... Obama is hard to beat because a handful of mentally challenged adults may have been persuaded to vote for him...???

If that's your premise, then I would point to the majority of the Fox News viewing audience--individuals being persuaded to think and do as they told..

You're right about Cheney in one aspect. I wouldn't say he's a great fan of democracy. He'd make the perfect tyrant. As for a threat against the US that is complete nonsense. What did the terrorists do in Afghanistan or Iraq that couldn't be done on a farm in Nebraska or Kansas or in the bush in Oregon? The point being what did the governments do to help the terrorists re: 9/11?

I like services. Services like public transport although it's been decades since I've used it. I like the idea parents have subsidized day care so they can go to work and not worry about getting a babysitter. (Someone has to pay for my pension when the time comes.) :) I like street lights and sidewalks and parks and access to a doctor 24 hours a day whether or not I have a nickle in my pocket.

Taxes are the same thing as paying someone to do a job. Years ago I paid a company to clean my driveway after a snowfall. I also paid the government to clean the streets.

The problem is not paying taxes. The problem is what the taxes are used for. The guy that cleaned my driveway didn't charge much because he had most of my neighbors as clients so it benefited everyone just as government services benefit everyone.

Saddam didn't reside in Kansas, and Osama didn't run to Nebraska.

Still trying to justify 'voting in your best interest'. Pitiful.

How did that help the terrorists? What, exactly, did Saddam do? Or Osama, for that matter? What vital role did they play?

Of course. If everyone voted in their best interest they'd vote for government involvement just like those folks in countries that have government medical and day care and numerous other social programs.

What Saddam and Osama did is well documented.

These numerous social programs are freebies. We know that you like freebies, so vote in your best interest.
