Why not just let it fail?

Why not just let it fail?

They keep talking about just letting Obama care fail, but they're desperate to repeal it right away? Why not just let it fail? Because they are scared to death it won't fail. Obamacare has been the law of the land for almost 8 years, the predictions of doom and gloom never happened. Now they keep saying it's failing, The sky is falling.

Now I agree it needs some work, but it ain't failing and that's what they're afraid of.

just curious, but wouldn't you think that millions of others losing their insurance due to obamacare is a failure? or do you want to blame that on separate entities like the health insurance companies?

Obamacare is nothing more than you and I, assuming you work and buy your healthcare, buying other peoples healthcare for them.
Hence premiums skyrocketing, and hence it strangling Medicaid.

Liberals lose on this one, this character jarod I'm afraid is not mentally capable of understanding any of this, to cease any further discussion with him on the subject is advised

Yes, but 22,000,000 more have it under Obamacare than they would have had. What a silly argument.

If I saw that 20 people were drowning every year at a beach, and I was able to save 10 of them, you would attack me?

i'd shoot you if your attempt to save 20 people were causing 10 of them to drown that weren't drowning in the first place.

I disagree, I think he understands all too well, and I have no intention of letting him make unsubstantiated claims without convincing evidence of their veracity.

Goldman Sachs estimates that total coverage under the ACA increased by 13 to 14 million last year and may have increased by another 4 million during the first five months of 2015, for a total coverage increase of 17 to 18 million combined. At a top line, this coincides with the figure from RAND, which estimated that there were 22.8 million newly insured people since the launch of the ACA. At the same time, 5.9 million people lost coverage. This comes out to a net gain of 16.9 million lives.

You must have forgotten to include this spicy tidbit from that piece:

The Obama administration fiddled with the Census Bureau’s definition of what it means to be “uninsured.” The new parameters, which were looser than the old factors, make it hard to construct comparisons between today’s figures for the total number of uninsured and the historical trends.

The Obama team also abruptly started to exclude uninsured illegal immigrants from the national tally on total number of uninsured Americans.

Before Obamacare, these individuals were counted in that reporting, inflating the numbers. After Obamacare, these individuals didn’t get insurance, but suddenly didn’t get counted any more.

I wonder why.

Given the stunning level of ignorance displayed on this thread, I am wasting my time, but ... Why not simply repeal?

Simply repealing Obamacare has the same flaw common to simplistic proposals used to pander to the simple-minded. Putting things in terms Deplorables can grasp makes them feel smart, but it is also a cynical ploy by those suckering them with "easy" answers.

The first obvious hint as to what a sham this is is the delay until after the next Congressional election. Why wait to simply repeal? Oh, Congress putting a gun to its own head will force it to do something? That idea blew up not long ago with the belief an agreement with the budget sequestration that was supposedly so dire in its effects to both parties that neither would allow it to be implemented. Jihadist TBaggers drove right through it.

Second, if there's one thing insurance companies love, it is a uncertainty. Even Deplorable simps should be able to imagine what two years of uncertainty would do to premiums in the interim.

Third, if you try to go outside the boundaries of the House Reconciliation bill, you are looking at losing the ability to legislate with a mere 50+ votes the Regressives can't get now.

You may now resume your previous yammering. I'm gonna get a recap of the White House press conference by cowards who won't alive cameras or live audio.

With the latest announcement from Trump himself I'm further inclined to believe my original theory.
Trump had no delusion that The Dems would help fix it, or that enough Republicans had the balls to repeal.

In Trumps usual brilliance now Obamacare will fail, miserably fail at that, insurers are not even offering insurance in some states with that number surely to grow as Medicaid dries up.
Trump will be able to say I tried to fix it, no Democrats and 3 or 4 republicans would help, so it dies on the vine of obstruction.

He wins again, God I love this guy

No. Did they not offer History at the Jethro Bodine Middle School, before you dropped out?

Really? Seems to me we became a world power, indeed a superpower and the most prosperous nation on the planet without government-mandated healthcare.

Please, cite your "history" that show the contrary.

Let me guess, now that I've made observations of what an inconsequential ankle gummer you are, you invented that insult, also? I would point to the lack of self-awareness involved in you following me about to squeak empty ankle gumming, including plagiarized insults, but I am sure that lack of self-awareness is a defense mechanism necessary to your continued survival.

We became a wealthy super-power for a number of reasons. For example, our number one source of national income for much of the 1800s was cotton. So, one of the reasons we became wealthy was through slavery. During that time, we also had major health problems, including a flu epidemic in the early 1900s that killed millions. That doesn't sound like doing "just fine" to me. Neither does clinging now to a system with costs growing much greater than inflation (that rate of increase slowed some under Obamacare), where our system costs much more per person than does health care costs in any other developed nations, only to have us rank lower than these nations in quality of care.

You might trying pulling your head out of your ... echo chamber and smelling something other than rightard media propaganda.
