Why is Brennan obstructing justice

Liar-to-Congress and former CIA Chief Brennan is in the news telling IC people not to comply with AG Barr on the release of classified documents related to the Russian investigation.

That’s called a cover-up by current standards and should he get away with obstruction?

By today's standards, it is business as usual. The Repubs defend that,

That’s a better argument if Brennan were a John Doe citizen and not a former Director—who could still hold sway over people in the agency and ‘hinder’ them from cooperating with Barr.

If I were his lawyer I’d counsel against making such statements—particularly, in light of the legal exposure Brennan has already.

An opinion does no hinder anybody. Unless you can prove his statements actually obstructed something there is no crime. Only those in authority can refuse to release information, not former directors.
