Why do conservatives think the military is more imporant than education?

Mott, given that liberal ideas such as Dewey's have taken over the modern education system, how do you fault conservatism? If it's money, consider that Reagan spent a ton after the famous report came out, and W spent a fuckton on education.

Not nearly as much as they spent on the military and look at what W spent on education...mainly a system of standardization that's a self fulfilling prophecy for failure.
 
Why do lefties persist in thinking that throwing money at it will improve education ? We have more teachers than 30 years ago and the outcomrs are far worse.

They don't. They believe in investing in human potential. Particularly in forward moving fields like STEM professions that scare the hell out of conservatives. Well that or conservatives are either to lazy or to unskilled to succeed in them.

Why are Liberals so dishonest?

Why do Liberals, like you, engage in fabricating dishonest strawman arguments?

A couple of inconvenient facts for the uninformed left; (1) one of the primary Constitutionalresponsibilities of the Federal government is defending our interests and borders; not educating our citizens; (2) the budget for defense is one of the smallest portions of the Federal budget constituting about 15% on average versus the massive entitlement spending that consumes the largest part our Federal spending not called for in the Constitution; (3) The amount spent for defense is a result of our leadership status in the free world and due to the reality that our allies Socialist welfare states cannot afford their own defense so they outsource it to the US.

Conservatives are much more concerned with education than their Liberal counterparts; so much so that they want real reform in a failing system run by union thugs more interested in tenure and preserving the status quo. They want parents and local communities to have a larger say in our children's education and want to give them more choice through vouchers.

Liberal Democrats just want to perpetuate mediocrity and failure and use unions to fund elections and kowtow to them in order to stay elected.

So spare us your dishonest strawman claims and stop bleating the DNC talkingoints like a brain dead sheeple.

Because pols would rather dictate to the Pentagon what they need (stuff from their state) than listen to the Pentagon. However, at least defense spending is constitutional.

Conservatives may actually have to accept evolution as fact were they honest with the evidence. Sweepmthe evidence under the rug by refunding education...pretty much willfully making themselves ignorant. The founding fathers would gacepalm were they to meet modern conservatives.

Has any society ever prioritized education over self-preservation and survived?

Japan? South Korea? Not the best examples since they had the USA ensuring their security.

Any others?

perhaps the difference in spending is because 90% of the funding for the military doesn't come from local and state taxes like it does for education........
