I won't deny that there is an influential group (but they're not a class, are they? Not in the traditional sense), or that they have their own best interests at heart. Their best interests are to keep us as a mass placated or otherwise occupied. I simply do not believe that their overthrow would be worth the effort. New ones would rise in their place, and a more . . . stable, centralized, authoritarian government in its stead.WeI survive fine on our current system, better than I would as a commie.
Maybe I am off-track here, though. Tell me what freedoms I lost, ones that were irrefutable?
Tell me, how would communism deal with the poor, lazy, unemployable, the sick, the skill-less, those of menial capability?
The list of freedoms you THINK you have but dont have is long. The freedom you convince yourselves of is the same freedom that most other countries have. Are you free to walk about in the city at night? Are you free to travel anywhere without being searched? Are you free to be black in your southern states?
I do not know what 'commies' would do, but I do know that investment in education (not only schooling) will take most people out of lazy, a lot of people out of poor. There is always employment for the skille-less but because of what they are the system will not pay them out of poverty. The US is pretty screwed up and you have a long way to go. You must stop being a drug culture, you must stop being the world centre of porn (neither generate extra wealth) You must introduce huge amounts of good schools with dedicated teachers...yes you can...other places do it. You need to stop your population being polarised so all people can discuss sensibly. And you must stop hating each other.
