If they are legally not supposed to knowingly lie then to get the LABEL of news they would have to not knowingly lie like Fox news did in the case of Florida couple who were reporters TOLD to lie about their story on cows and hormones in the milk. The reporters refused to lie and were fired and then sued Fox news. They then lost a court case because Fox successfully argued news cna lie all they want.

If they lost their NEWS label then they could continue to broad cast but would not be alowed to call it news. No one is banned or shut up but people could SEE they were not allowed to be called news anymore.

That's clearly libel. It even has the extremely strict malice component that American libel requires.

I may be wrong but I believe that's where you're coming from as well, although less carefully than I.

Frankly, I think this difference is why you're AssHate and I'm not. Sometimes you're your own worst enemy when you go overboard .. even when you're making an otherwise good point.

I've left a couple of sites where no matter how careful I was about the distinctions, censorship was the order of the day. Admitedly. the issue of Israel is sensitive, but then again, so is the issue of race. I've also left sites where that "freedom" to spew hate made conversations worthless.

Point being, intelligent sites are valued. This site strikes a good balance between both poles. The key is in finding intelligent balance, not in a mindless free-for-all where anything goes.

Some sites have special forums where that kind of behavior is allowed .. so they don't interupt intelligent people with their childish behavior.
