Why are we negotiating with Iran?

It wasn't a war, and Y OU didn't win anything, Brad.

Certainly not an understanding of history.

Some examples for you . . .

American Revolutionary War: The United States won and negotiated directly with Britain. The Treaty of Paris (1783) formally ended the war; Britain recognized U.S. independence, set generous western boundaries (to the Mississippi River), and agreed to evacuate all forces while restoring pre-war property rights and fishing privileges.

War of 1812: The Treaty of Ghent (signed December 1814, effective February 1815) restored pre-war borders with no territorial changes, ended hostilities, and included provisions for future boundary commissions and cooperation against the slave trade.

Mexican–American War: Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo (1848) — Mexico ceded ~55% of its territory (including present-day California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, most of Arizona, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma) to the U.S.; recognized the Rio Grande as the Texas border; U.S. paid Mexico $15 million and assumed certain debts.

Spanish–American War: Treaty of Paris (1898) — Spain relinquished sovereignty over Cuba (which gained nominal independence under U.S. influence); ceded Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines to the U.S. (U.S. paid $20 million for the Philippines).

World War I: Treaty of Versailles (1919, primary treaty with Germany) — Germany lost Alsace-Lorraine to France, territories to Poland (including a “Polish Corridor”), and all overseas colonies; military severely restricted (army limited to 100,000, no air force/tanks/submarines); Rhineland demilitarized; war-guilt clause imposed; massive reparations agreed to.

World War II: The United States (as part of the Allies) negotiated and signed the Armistice of Cassibile on 3 September 1943 with the Italian government under Pietro Badoglio. This ended hostilities between Italy and the Allies and allowed Italy to switch sides.

Vlad Putin thought he could defeat Ukraine and topple their government in two days, which is apparently what Trump thought he could do in Iran.

There you go with the brainless lies. Why so much lying?

Trump is desperately looking for an offramp.

What offramp? We've crushed Iran's ability to fight or threaten their neighbors and fly unhindered throughout the country.

You, being the dishonest lying leftist loser and halfwit we know you to be, don't understand what winning looks like. :palm:

But it is telling how you are rooting for a despotic murderous regime. It takes some serious stupid and ignorance to do that.

He is negotiating, but he says we already won?

Do you think we have lost? Why?

You’ve won when an agreement is made, not before.

Wrong as usual. We've won because we have destroyed this regime and its ability to threaten their neighbors and are flying at will unopposed over their lands. Now it will be up to the Iranian people to rise up and choose a new Government. One that doesn't repress, murder or imprison its people for disagreements.

Just a few days ago Crazy Trump came on like a lion, issuing a 48 hour ultimatum threatening Iran with having their infrastructure destroyed, and today he's bleating like a lamb; this is just unbelievable.
More stupid lies. I don't think brainless mentally unhinged leftists can post without lying and looking retarded.

trump cannot define who he is supposedly negotiating with. It would have to be someone who could get direct contact with him, which is basically impossible. So basically, he is not negotiating with anyone.

Dumb Trump thought Iran would surrender and their government would collapse after two days, so four weeks into his war he's desperately looking for an off ramp.
There you go making stupid shit up again. You seem to be quite full if stupid shit. Mentally unhinged too. ;)

Trump does not pay attention to briefings. He believes he can sense what is true. He feels an attack in his bone...spurs. He is a horrible, unevolved person and a miserable president.
More made-up bullshit from the bullshit peddler. You seem to be quite full of bullshit.

There is no negotiating. It's called unconditional surrender. We're just trying to figure out who is going to do it.

The thing about unconditional surrender is that it happens quickly. I am seeing no sign of that, and no sign of anyone who could even accept an unconditional surrender.

Wally, what exactly is your position within Trump's cabinet?
