Why are the radicalized right wing extremists obsessed with Justin Smollett?

This is all hindsight. I didn't find it strange that this could be a racist attack, given the way the country's been going.

The story was outlandish from day one, nothing hindsight about it. but folks wanted to jump on it because it fit their preconceived (political) notions

No, I don't recall that.

"Not long after these tweets surfaced, Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi wrote on Twitter, "Media reports anout [sic] the Empire incident being a hoax are unconfirmed by case detectives. Supt Eddie Johnson has contacted @ABC7Chicago to state on the record that we have no evidence to support their reporting and their supposed CPD sources are uninformed and inaccurate."

Jussie attempted to start race riots in Chicago and blame Trump supporters for attention. Now he has it, he got what he wanted.

Did the cops get Smolletted also?

The cops and folks getting Smolletted are two different groups. The cops did their job. They took the report from the victim and then did their research until it led them to where we are now. Because a reader of Smollett story could tell it didn’t pass the sniff test doesn’t change how the cops go about their jobs.

That's a far cry from this:

If you recall, they did come out at one point and say it wasn't phony.

:D

Just wondering why liberals are being criticized for believing Smollett when it's no different from what the cops believed at first.

LOL
you really don't know how to decide for yourself, do you? You don't know how to think about evidence and plausibility? I feel sorry for you NPCs
