Why are the radicalized right wing extremists obsessed with Justin Smollett?

The fake news is where the MAGA hat lie came from. Conservative sites had to add that although Smollett only said that the attackers shouted "this is MAGA country." Even if it looks like Smollett's story is coming unraveled, I'm not going to believe anything conservatives say about it because that wasn't their only lie. They also keep saying the brothers are Nigerians when in fact they were born and raised in America.

Do you agree that if this all turns out to be a hoax that the brothers are also culpable?

And LR, I'm disappointed in your comment about the kid suing WaPo. This is greedy, unreasonable and just plain wrong. Nathan Phillips was just as much defamed as Sandmann. The kid was acting like an entitled snot and I don't know why you would high-five him for treating Mr. Phillips this way. I guess the conventional wisdom of kids having respect for their elders isn't being taught by parents anymore.

Good point. I'd like to know when it was confirmed that Smollett arranged this hate crime. I looked everywhere - and except for the far right media - noone has reported that it has been proven to be a hoax.

So when liberals say ' Lets wait until the investigation is over' - I think that is the correct thing to do.


Unlike the republicunts who have been screeching that trump is innocent before Mueller has completed his investigation.

I see people questioning the story. It’s nuanced but different than calling him a liar. And people who said the story was far fetched are correct
