Why America's School Buses are going Electric. MAGA wets panties.

The new electric mail trucks will not work as intended because there is not enough juice to run the mandatory AC systems all day with a big window open and with the new giant windows which let in massive amounts of heat.

Do electric school busses work any better?

It's hilarious how the trumptards in this thread rebel against smart energy alternatives because they think reducing our carbon footprint is a liberal idea. They're like children refusing to eat their vegetables.

Which "energy alternatives" do you consider "smart?"

Nighttime when these busses will be charging solar works not at all, and generally the winds die. The Save The Planets energy plan was never thought through.

Could have get an accounting of how much raping of the planet by mining is required to make every school bus electric using current technology?

Of course not.

Not to mention the raising of the cost of those busses because Joke and his administration won't allow that mining to be done in the US. Joke has slowed or stopped several new mines for lithium and copper, among other elements, because of envirotard bullshit.

For example, his 'tards put the brakes on this one in Arizona, because the usual tiny bunch of radical Leftist Native Americans complained it was on "sacred ground" where they (never before) collect sacred acorns from sacred oak trees they never knew previously existed.

US copper mines get riskier as Biden stalls Resolution land swap

school buses are logical uses for electric vehicles.....
1) they only travel short distances....
2) they are only used for a few hours so they can spend a lot of time recharging....
3) if they explode only children will be harmed and they probably aren't human beings yet.....

LOL. Not where I'm from... School buses usually travel way more than that out here in the middle of nowhere.

As they claim to be taking action so that China no longer is in charge of production of battery materials, the Han, who hate us on a scale that few Americans comprehend.

The WOKE Suicide Cult is incoherent everywhere one looks.

Your being a better person plan is going poorly I see.

They're like the people in the Jim Jones or David Koresh cults. They are told what to believe.

FREE TAXPAYER MONEY IS WHY.

Nearly Half of Americans Are Ready to Ditch Fully Gas-Powered Cars for EVs

According to a new survey by Ernst & Young, 48% of new car buyers say they plan to get a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or full EV—but an unexpected adoption barrier has emerged.

The electric vehicle revolution is accelerating, with more Americans than ever looking to move away from fully gas-powered cars, a new study finds.
Ernst & Young (EY) surveyed 15,000 consumers in 20 different countries who intend to buy a vehicle in the next 24 months, as part of its annual Mobility Consumer Index (MCI). The results show that US consumer interest in EVs is at an all-time high: Almost half (48%) say their next car will be a hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), or fully electric vehicle.
That's up 19% since last year's survey, a bigger jump than in many other countries that were surveyed. "This year's data demonstrates that the US is at a true precipice when it comes to mainstream EV adoption," says*Steve Patton, mobility sector leader for EY Americas. "We can expect to see more EVs, both commercial and consumer, on the road."
The US, which has historically lagged behind China and the EU in EV adoption, jumped up five spots on the list—the biggest leap for any country—to number seven. China, Norway, and Sweden hold the top three spots.

Heat is not contained in anything. It isn't 'let in' and is not contained in car or truck.

HVAC systems in electric vehicles DO require a significant load on the battery, seriously reducing range. Mail trucks generally have OPEN windows because they are delivering mail from box to box, causing a lot of heat (leaving the vehicle colder in the winter and hotter in the summer). Further, mail trucks have to work all day. Electric ones will no longer be able to because the charge won't last long enough.

School buses don't work all day. They take kids to school and back about 4 times a day on a fixed route. They are sometimes used for field trips or school functions. A battery powered school bus, however, is two to three times as expensive to buy, must be charged at all opportunity (requiring the installation of expensive charging stations and their maintenance), are over twice as heavy as a diesel bus (which tears up roads), and require special facilities to do maintenance on them (which is expensive to install). Further, the current functioning fleet of school buses will be discarded.

Well...that's government waste for you.

None of this, of course, 'saves the planet' or reduce CO2. Electric companies are still burning fuel to charge those buses. All in all, those buses will use more than twice the energy of a diesel bus.
