Those 3 states have a black population over 26% so of course the murder rate is high..Miss is almost 40% and DC is at 45% black their murder rate is sky high also
So compare their murder rate to Maine Vermont New Hampshire with black pop below 2%

Americans capping one another's asses is a culture enshrined in our Constitution.
It's what we as Americans do.
We can't do a lot of things that more modern, more progressive nations do,
but we shoot one another's heads off better than anybody else on the planet.
Nothing can change that other that other that dissolution of the republic
and the incorporation of a brand new or multiple brand new nations to replace the USA.
If there' no appetite to do that, and there certainly doesn't seem to be,
than we're really just posturing when we bemoan firearms violence.
You're American.
Getting shot to death is always on the table for you and your family.
Eventually, you may very likely shoot somebody yourself.
Just accept that and try to change something that CAN be changed instead.
This is something that I understood as a child for Christ's sake.
It's what we as Americans do.

Right, I could freely choose to not associate with drug dealers and drug users, motorcycle gangs, gang bangers, ex-cons, sociopaths, and road ragers, and my probability of getting murdered drops to almost nil.

Let's review: Anytime there is a report of a white man going on a mass shooting spree, bigoted buffoons like you IMMEDIATELY run to crime stats to infer that since black folk have a higher crime rate in a particular venue, then that somehow lessens or negates the impact of white folk crime in the same venue. But all you have to do is just show everyone where black folk are going outside of their living areas and shooting up groups of people who are NOT victims of stray bullets do to gang warfare, domestic violence or robbery to make that stick. We'll wait.
Now I pointed out in the chronology of the posts that since YOU just love percentages, your own criteria indicates (via FBI/DOJ stats) that white folk are notorious sexual deviants and such. Of course, you counter that RAW NUMBERS DON'T MATTER because black folk are only 13% of the population, therefore any numbers they rate indicates basically worse people.
Then I just apply your "logic" to the areas of law enforcement, military, nursing. The responses show your back tracking and attempt to diminish the positives (two of which you totally ignore).

But your recent statement in relation to the article I sourced demonstrates your myopic mentality. From the list YOU used from my article, here are the RED states with highest crime rates in the country, and their black population percentage as of 2024-2025:

Maryland 31%
Mississippi 38%
Missouri 11%
New Mexico 3%
South Carolina 25%
Tennessee 16%
So 4 out of 10 of these states have a black population of over 30%. So by your pointy hooded "logic", we just ignore or downplay the other 6.

Your solution is extreme at best. But most people will go to those extremes on either side of the issue than just have universal gun control laws (back ground checks, waiting periods).

SCOTUS will find all of those admittedly reasonable measures--I would include an assault weapon ban--
in conflict with the 2nd Amendment,
and we'll never see sufficient ideological consensus
for any kind of constitutional amendment in our lifetimes.
I own several sporting type firearms--none of them paramilitary weapons--
and none of the reasonable measures futilely proposed would upset me one bit.
I haven't fired them in years, but the kids should get a few bucks for them when I'm gone.
You mention my solution being extreme but I have not offered one
because I have no confidence that America can exist as anything but aa shooting gallery.
